Job Summary
Nidec is hiring summer intern to support our Merkle-Korff Industries operation outside in Hoffman Estates, IL. The Intern will work directly with the engineering department, part of a major supplier of sub fractional motors and gearboxes marketed to the commercial, industrial and consumer appliance markets.
Duties:
  • Manage a database for components, requesting quotes, issuing purchase orders, and tracking supplier lead times.
  • Assist with other aspects of the program such as testing and related documentation.
  • Assist with prototype builds, design of prototype assist tooling, and managing CAD data in company database systems.
Additional Job Details
Requirements:
  • Completed 2 + years college courses
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • General understanding of gearing and related technical terms
  • Some basic experience with CAD systems (AutoCAD or SolidWorks)
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft, Excel)
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • BSME or BSEE undergraduate study
