Develop, integrate and execute a Fleet Safety strategy, policy, program, procedures, standards, training, processes and actions to manage applicable requirements

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Establish a tracking and validation process for DOT compliance. Maintain all DOT licensing and reporting requirements

Partner and collaborate with the business units and support functions to influence and manage projects and business decisions

Manage regulatory agency and external stakeholder Fleet Safety activities, including reporting, visits, or inspections

Train the new Safety & Security Officers to perform their duties, responsibilities, procedures, and protocols.

Support, and enforce all company policies and procedures, and report violations to the Safety & Security Manager.

Act as the point of contact in the absence of the Safety & Security Manager.

Provide administrative assistance to the Safety & Security Manager upon request.

Two years of Safety & Security experience.

Ability to lead and manage crisis situations.

Experience with safety and security programs, policies, standard operating procedures and/or emergency preparedness documents or programs to meet all necessary requirements.

Enforce Safety and Security Programs in accordance with all federal, state, local, and customer specific requirements.

Knowledge and understanding of the work being performed, from a safety and security perspective,

Shall report to the Corporate Safety Manager and the Contract Safety Engineer.

Understand, accept, and comply with responsibilities for information security.

Positive participation in information security training; Acknowledge that use of information and systems may be logged.

CRST is looking for an experienced Safety Supervisor to join our team!

Demonstrate values for safety and leadership to contractors in both personal and professional lives

Plan, schedule, and assign the work of skilled mechanics and other shop workers.

Inspect work in progress and upon completion, for compliance with policies, procedures and standard trade practices.

Make initial inspections in difficult cases and diagnose mechanic defects.

Oversee the City’s preventive maintenance program and schedule vehicles for preventive maintenance and the repair covered by dealer warranty.

Prepare detailed cost estimates and make recommendations regarding feasibility of major repairs.

Maintain records of time, materials and equipment used.

Utilizes all assets management software to schedule and document preventive, corrective, and routine work.

Works closely with the management team and vendors to procure equipment and vehicles.

Inputting and updating work orders and information in the Asset Management system. (Asset Essentials)

Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company personnel and management.

Keeps management informed of areas activities and of significant concerns. Reports major concerns or significant problems.

Accurate records and logs are maintained within the asset management system (Asset Essentials). Equipment is appropriately controlled and accounted for.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

One To Three Years Onsite Driver Management Experience Preferred

Proven Leadership and in-depth knowledge of dedicated transportation operations, FMCSA and DOT regulations.

Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, interpersonal problem solving and innovative thinking skills.

High attention to detail, strong planning, and organization skills

Responsibility for driver safety, FMCSA, and DOT compliance.

Notify Management of low inventory, including equipment and consumables

Manage the company fleet including vehicle tracking and maintenance records for the East Region

Manage the GeoTab system including employee coaching and disciplinary actions with assistance from Human Resources and local Managers

Report any deficiencies in operational and policy level non-conformances to the Project Manager or Operations Manager as applicable

Load and unload customer parts utilizing a fork truck

Sign equipment in and out from inventory using the designated inventory control system

Fleet maintenance management experience in a metric driven environment

Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets – utilize vehicle management systems

Mechanical experience or knowledge including hydraulics, electrical and diagnostics

Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements

5 years of relevant work experience preferred

Coordinates and supervises all maintenance work and repairs, and monitors progress and quality

Act as liaison between city management and external suppliers, contractors, and safety agencies

Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary

Manages safety and fleet reporting, records, policies, and procedures

Manage the Food for Good Fleet program

Experience in LD&T Safety and Fleet

Ability to manage tasks simultaneously

In cooperation with Operations and HR Manager, leads Element 1 and acts as technical resource for all other SRMP teams

Determines requirements as associated with personal protective equipment (PPE)

Demonstrated ability and experience creating successful workplace safety programs

Must be detail oriented, well organized, and possess effective time management skills

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Preferred

High school diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).

Two (2) years of passenger transit related experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

5 years of relevant experience

Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Job will require public speaking engagements and significant report writing.

Supports the development and advancement of construction and major projects.

2-3 years relevant work experience

Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills

Bachelor’s Degree in safety or related discipline

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

Ability to prioritize handling multiple projects at a given time
