Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus 3+ years of experience in group benefits services, financial services, marketing or sales.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards in the management of small group benefits.

Strong customer service and relationship management skills

Manage a portfolio of small group benefit accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for clients.

Assess client's needs and recommend appropriate small group benefits plans based on their requirements and budget.

Educate and empower clients regarding their benefits plans through employee communication and education initiatives.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Crisis and issues management experience

At least 10 years of relevant experience in external communications and media relations

Strong storytelling experience and proven ability to write for a variety of audiences

Experience in the Insurance/Financial Services industry or other highly regulated industry

Understanding of modern communications approaches and experience building effective executive thought leadership programs

All other responsibilities as defined by the Head of External Communications.

Experience in business planning, budget planning, and project management

Knowledgeable of donor management systems preferred but not required

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience

3 – 5 years of experience in community engagement programs and project planning

Ability to represent the company in a professional manner and strong public speaking skills

Excellent organizational and project planning skills with attention to detail

2+ years Group Benefit Project Management and organizational skills required

2+ years knowledge of Group Benefits Life and Disability products, provisions and service offerings required

Leave Management and Voluntary product experience a plus

Effective financial underwriting, marketing, relationship and account management capabilities.

Researches and resolves customer issues, offering alternative solutions.

Prior Implementation experience a plus

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Quality Management experience is a plus

Conduct quality reviews of group product form filings in accordance with the Forms and Filing Quality Management Program

At least one year of Group Benefits drafting & filing experience is strongly preferred

Communicate quality review findings to specialists and managers

Provide coaching to specialists and managers through consistent, clear and continuous feedback through reviews

Benefits Specialist - Group Benefits

FULLY REMOTE but must reside in Oregon, Washington, Idaho or Utah

· Experience in customer service (preferably in the world of healthcare/insurance) is a major plus.

· Experience working with Salesforce CRM and Facets or EPIC claims system is a plus.
