Working closely with Content, Production, and Account Management teams

Strong knowledge of AMA style

Minimum of 2 to 5 years editing and proofreading medically related materials

Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

3 to 5 years medical editing and fact checking experience in a pharma ad agency/medical education environment (agency experience preferred)

Prioritize and manage workload, meetings, and various tasks to ensure all deliverables are met with excellence

Offer guidance and training to junior team members and freelancers to ensure integrity of editorial process

Proactively offer and provide help to others to ensure all work moves through the department efficiently

Knowledge of AMA style and FDA guidelines governing pharmaceutical products

Edit and proofread copy for assigned and other brands as needed

Applicants must have experience editing medical and/or scientific materials. Corporate communications editors, literary editors, teachers, and/or writers will not be considered.

Job Title: Medical Content Editor

Pay rate – 30/hr on w2

Knowledge of and experience in communication with clinicians/health care professionals

At least 5 years of editorial experience and 3 years of copyediting experience in medical publishing

Copyedit content to ensure compliance with editorial policies and style guidelines.

Review content for organization and clarity and provide feedback as necessary to Medical Editors and Editor-in-Chief.

Ensure quality content and meet content delivery deadlines as set by editorial team.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to adhere to process requirements and manage competing priorities

Required education: Bachelor's degree. Relevant professional certification (e.g., AMWA or BELS) preferred.

Effectively manages multiple projects and provides proofreading, styling, and copy-editing of a wide variety of medical and scientific content

Checks accuracy and reviews styling of references per journal requirements

Maintains current knowledge of publications-related policies, procedures, and work Instructions

Experience assimilating and interpreting scientific content is preferred

Partner with the Client Services to ensure an exceptional client experience and 100% client retention.

Be able to work independently and with initiative, but also demonstrate strong team/collaboration skills.

Two or more years of medical/scientific editing experience in a medical communications agency, medical publishing or pharmaceutical/biotech setting.

Experience with product launches, both US and global.

Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and presentation.

Solution-oriented, with excellent organizational skills.

Healthcare agency experience (highly desirable)

Editorial experience in an agency environment or similar

Excellent time management and decision-making skills

At least 1-3 years of pharmaceutical editing experience either in promotional advertising or related fields
