About Our Job
Do you love giving back to the community and want to take on a professional role within Sarasota County Libraries? As our Youth and Family Services Coordinator you'll manage and initiate programs by coordinating services dedicated to children and teens. Apply today and help influence generations to come.
:
  • Keep up to date with developments, new trends, and innovations in libraries.
  • Partner and work collaboratively with The Patterson Foundation for Remake Learning Days.
  • Implement standards of service that ensure prompt and efficient resolution of inquiries from County customers.
  • Establish core programming priorities for youth and family services and assesses program quality using feedback for future improvement. This includes reviewing external programs to determine application for use in libraries.
  • Form strategic partnerships with representatives of community agencies, organizations, and institutions.
  • Guide strategic planning with Youth Services co-workers to optimize library services.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, principles, and practices within Sarasota County Libraries.
  • Manage fiscal resources, including operating budget, grant funds, in-kind contributions.
  • Represent Sarasota County to library users and the public and demonstrates the value of library services to the community.
  • Participate in the development of an integrated marketing and communications plans. This includes developing marketing materials and templates to promote various programs and special events.
  • Communicate and advocates for quality library services for children, teens, and families.
Work Hours: 40 hour work weeks. Typical schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
**You will occasionally be required to work nights and weekends on other projects.
About You
We realize your time is valuable so please carefully review the required minimum qualifications for the position:
  • Must obtain a Valid Florida Driver's License by date of employment
  • A Master's degree in Library Science from a college or university accredited by the American Library
  • Two (2) years of experience
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $51,542.40 - $60,008.00, depending on experience
Position Salary Range: $51,542.40 - $87,027.20
