Our Claims department is currently seeking a Worker's Compensation Adjuster with a California designation to join our team in Roseville, CA. This is a full-time, non-exempt role with a hybrid work schedule.

SALARY: $85,000/year
Minimum 3 years experience
Complex desk, candidate will need good desk management
Needs to work well in a team environment
Must have current case law, methodical work experience, and work very well in a team environment.
Strong sense of urgency around deadlines, fast-paced and rapid environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the investigation, negotiation, and resolution of claims in accordance with policy provisions, best practices, and jurisdictional requirements. This includes the input of claim data and guiding insureds and claimants through the claim process and options.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Claims handled will be of greater complexity and will require a higher level of investigation, analysis, evaluation, and negotiation including interpretation of commercial coverage.
- Identify possibly suspicious claims
- Take recorded statements
- Claims handled will involve moderate to high complexity, severity, and exposures including litigation
- Possess demonstrated technical knowledge and skills, including product and industry, reflective of successful progression through various job family levels
- May be required to have and maintain a sufficient home-based internet connection
- Use discretion and independent judgment in claim handling
- Work with the Special Investigations Unit to resolve and negotiate a settlement
- Authority levels are higher in recognition of the higher proficiency associated with this level
- Must have or secure and maintain a California adjuster license and continuing education credits
- Responsible for managing all aspects of each claim, including informal hearings and small claims litigation, and maintaining a high level of productivity, confidentiality, and customer service
- Work within significant limits and authority on assignments of higher technical complexity and coordination
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Prominent experience in California jurisdiction
- Possesses strong customer service skills and behaviors
- Operates with latitude for un-reviewed action or decision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Easily adapts to new or different changing situations, requirements, or priorities
- Proficient in using Claims systems (i.e. CSS, PMS, etc.)
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations, and case law
- Thinks critically and anticipates, recognizes, identifies, and develops solutions to problems in a timely manner
- Makes decisions in an informed, confident, and timely manner
- Maintains constructive working relationships despite differing perspectives
- Demonstrates ability to win concessions without damaging relationships
- Proficient with Microsoft 365
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups
- Typically has 3+ years’ experience
