Job Description
Position Information
This is a Department Promotional examination and is open only to eligible employees of Kern County Counsel who have permanent status in the classified service and received an overall standard or better on their last employee performance report.
Examination Schedule
Appraisal (100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any combination of the following: Investigation, oral examination and/or rating of the application.
Should an oral exam be necessary, the oral exam will be weighted at 100%.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the examination process.
Minimum Qualifications / Employment Standards
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in the adjustment, analysis, reserving, rating, negotiating and handling all aspects of workers' compensation claims from inception through litigation to closure OR Three (3) years of experience as described above in a government setting. Supervisory experience is desirable. Possession of a California state Self-Insurance Administrator's Certificate is required at time of appointment.
Possession of a valid Class "C" California driver's license at time of appointment.
