Webnovel Editor (Contract) Jobs

Tapas Entertainment is seeking a full-time freelance Webnovel Editor to join our team. As a Webnovel Editor, you will be responsible for editing and reviewing webnovels. You will also provide hands-on guidance to freelance webnovel editors and creators to facilitate the production of publication-ready chapters while working closely with the Content Growth Team. Please note this is a full-time contract requiring 30-40 hour per week, including weekends and holidays. If you are a passionate advocate of Action and Fantasy genres and subgenres, and can work in tandem with our in-house novels team, we encourage you to apply and be an integral part of our mission.

Responsibilties:

• Edit materials for world-building, tone, and character development, and ensure cultural understanding for western audiences
• Vet and review English language webnovels and manuscripts of various genres including but not limited to fantasy, action fantasy, and action
• Produce written and creative materials related to series as assigned
• Communicate with the localization team to provide updates on progress and address any issues through designated channels
• Copy-edit materials for spelling, grammar, readability, and consistency to prepare them for publication
• Cultivate strong relationships with writers and creators to explore potential collaboration

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Familiarity with Slack, Google Drive, and digital storage platforms like DropBox is a plus
• Comfortable escalating questions to management and driving projects to completion. pushing projects over the finish line
• Previous experience with webnovels Licensing & Acquisitions is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, maintaining friendly and timely correspondence with diverse individuals across different time zones and project schedules
• Ability to adhere to project deadlines
• Cultural fluency related to American audiences
• In-depth knowledge of various genres, tropes, pop culture, and other specialized topics
• Proficiency in English language and grammar
• A passion for storytelling and a deep appreciation for the craft of writing
