Web Product Manager (Open To Remote)

Job Summary

Monday to Friday 8am-5pm

Plain and simple, you will be in charge of creating a sticky online user experience and pushing revenue growth as fast as supporting teams can handle it. That will include constant improvements to messaging and UI, ongoing A/B tests, and interaction with supporting channels like our SEM / SEO managers, fulfillment, and direct sales. The website impacts every aspect of the company. More than any other channel, it sets customer expectations. We must delight customers and earn their loyalty with every interaction.

Daily Work Entails

You’ll be the product owner for a few of our portfolio websites responsible for driving tens of millions of annual revenue. We utilize some direct eCommerce sales as well as very healthy lead generation for our sales department. We’re aggressively scaling our team to capitalize on opportunities and continue our double-digit growth.

• Develop and prioritize UX a/b tests on the website to derive customer insights and provide evidence backed support for feature roadmap
• Own and prioritize the website roadmap to achieve consistent month-over-month revenue growth through that channel
• Develop and maintain long-term strategy, vision, roadmap, and priorities of website features
• Hypothesize, research, and gain buy-in on website features and UI changes that will drive growth
• Work closely with internal & external SEO and SEM experts to ensure ongoing expansion of product visibility.
• Work with sales management and other leadership to ensure that the website roadmap reflects team needs for ongoing operational improvements.
• Become the subject matter expert for the website and provide guidance to the leadership team into customer needs, business strategy, competitor activities, and other market dynamics.
• Own daily and weekly prioritization of technical features related to website. Excel at managing development timelines and coordinating with supporting development teams
• Coordinate with key stakeholders across the business and be the feature / project gatekeeper in order to keep efforts prioritized.
• Collect and evaluate a wide variety of data to inform product direction. This may include web analytics, transaction data, competitive intelligence, customer behavior, and other.
• Work with sales management and other leadership to ensure that the website roadmap reflects team needs for ongoing operational improvements.
• Develop concise business requirements, user stories, and feature definitions. Use familiarity with agile development methods to interact effectively with the dev lead.
• Gain a holistic understanding of customer needs and create a website user experience that drives high levels of customer loyalty
• Coordinate with in-house UI/UX to develop designs and an experience that aligns with overall goals

Requirements

• Experienced with change management and personally capable of guiding teams through rapid change of technology processes
• Well versed in agile development methodology and related team collaboration
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with conversion optimization on a website responsible for driving $10M+ in annual revenue (more preferred). This must include very practical experience with A/B testing and exceptional knowledge of web analytics
• Robust experience with Figma, Sketch, Photoshop or similar UI collaboration tools. You will have UI/UX designers you can lean on, but it is often advantageous for you to mockup and design small changes yourself
• 4+ years as a website product manager or in a similar demanding role requiring direct ownership of website performance, feature roadmap, and prioritization with executive level stakeholders
• Experience as a web designer or working closely with designers
• Highly tuned time management and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail
• An innovative, self-starting personality with a history of gaining new skills and using your intuition to improve products
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to support internal and external communication
• Seasoned analytical skills including logic based problem solving and a keen eye for data trends and anomalies. This must include a strong proficiency with spreadsheets and standard analytics programs like Google Analytics
• Strong agile product development and planning skills and experience owning a product roadmap at scale
• A desire for total domination – to absolutely crush the competition and provide a product that is second to none

Education & Experience

• BS or equivalent degree or experience in a business or technology related discipline such eCommerce, Computer Science, Marketing, Information Systems or comparable work experience.
• ECommerce / Digital Marketing: 3+ years (Required)
• Product Management: 5+ years (Required)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Continuous sitting and typing for extended periods.
• Lifting requirements include occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
• Occasional, reaching/working overhead, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling

Employee Evaluation Summary

• Annual Reviews – A more detailed review of the overall performance in this position, where the employee is rated and typically compensated in accordance with that rate.
• Monthly Evaluations – A monthly written assessment will be issued which briefly describes the individual’s performance in this position.
• Probationary Review – A written evaluation of the employee’s performance will be issued to determine permanent placement in this position. This is typically done approximately 90 days after placement.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is an exempt position which requires a work schedule that will achieve the results and objectives identified by the company and ecommerce management. Generally the company operates and most of those who will interface with this position work normal business hours which are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Nights and weekends may required at times based on current project and implementation needs, deadlines, and workload.
