Job Description

Our organization is in search of an experienced Project Management Office (PMO) Leader who will be instrumental in implementing a culture of accountability through aligning with our company’s obligations to a methodical waterfall Gantt chart. This leader will not only instill a high-level accountability culture but will also be responsible for optimizing our project management system, primarily using Jira, to support project management, portfolio management, and adaptive waterfall development. The candidate's role will further entail implementing a culture of discipline, reflecting our commitment to both our contractual responsibilities and core company values. The role helps staff know what to do, when to do it, and what level of quality, and how their work is impacted by, and impacts, others.

Expectations:

  • Interact with company partners and their personnel to collaborate within Jira projects, and conducting weekly PMO status meetings with them
  • Continuously Showcasing Your Deliverables End of Each Month
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with PMO policies, train senior leaders, and compel them to train their staff
  • Manage projects using adaptive Waterfall methodology.
  • Facilitate the production of enterprise wide adaptive waterfall Gantt chart with dependencies, blockers, and due dates.
  • Understanding Delivery Types and Related Ticket Trees
  • Understanding Our Projects and Project Types
  • Understanding Our Product Development and Delivery Lifecycles, and Related Issue/Ticket Types
  • Aligning Deliverables with company Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
  • Continuous Planning Of Your Deliverables During Waterfall Months
  • Understanding Development Types and Related Ticket Trees
  • Continuous Working on Your Waterfall Deliverables Against Due Dates
  • How We Use Jira & Our Project Management Policies
  • Uphold and adhere to company core values, including “Product Delivery over Personal Delivery.”
  • Our Project Management Approach: Adaptive Waterfall (vs Agile)
  • Create PMO standard operating procedures, including:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customize Jira extensively, integrate Confluence, WBS Gantt.
  • Produce progress reports by individual, department, and organization wide, and report the findings accordingly
  • Troubleshoot Jira; develop documentation.
  • Proficient in forecasting; experience in WBS Gantt configuration.
  • Create a reward system for those individuals that thrive, and for departments that thrive, as well as an assistance system for those that fall behind.
  • Ensure consistent delivery, guide team on work pace, cultivate celebration culture.
  • Configure Jira: workflows, custom filtering, user provisioning.
  • Design and manage Jira dashboards; develop custom fields.
  • Utilize add-ons; configure time logs
  • Collaborate with teams; provide Jira training.
  • Utilize Jira Dashboards; demonstrate expertise in Jira Automation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience working with multiple teams; reporting to C-suite.
  • 5+ years strong Jira experience with ability to do light Jira configuration
  • PMP Certification
  • 10+ years in proven Waterfall PMO Leadership
  • Strong leadership and ability to communicate in a technical/stoic manner
  • Quick decision-making; motivate teams; experience with dictation software.
  • Ability to identify process improvements; manage multiple projects.
