The Vice President of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring the development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the current and future needs of the organization.


salary 190-225k/ year with a 50k bonus


Job Details


Principal Duties And Essential Responsibilities


  • Ensures standards to drive techniques for continuous improvement, and plant performance which includes cost reduction initiatives.
  • Manage inventory with best-in-class principles – raw materials, WIP, and finished goods. Standardize all inventory practices across all plants.
  • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and deploy production equipment that will enable product ramps to very high volumes; assess and improve partner readiness and capability.
  • Provide quality oversite of the production operations with Maintenance and Quality Control. This team monitors and audits the production operation to ensure work standards, training, quality checks, calibration, etc. standards are being effectively executed and maintained.
  • Help close strategic partnerships and major licensees, as the highly credible executive that can convey the “can-do” of our technology, products, and processes; act as executive sponsor for select manufacturing relationships.
  • Execute the sales revenue and operating income plan for each plant within the respective business segment. Responsible for plants/segment productivity and throughput.
  • Define and own aggressive KPIs for quality, manufacturing, and cost for all products.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in cross-functional areas with multiple programs.
  • Assist in building a best-in-class quality department.
  • Work with factory cross-functional teams to understand the Value Stream and how projects impact the entire process. Ensure material flow, workstation setup, model mix, etc. are considered when processes are designed.
  • Leverage data analysis to improve the team’s performance and identify opportunities to influence product development priorities.
  • Create a long-range product roadmap to ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Work with R&D during development to ensure product manufacturability and scalability.
  • In conjunction with the COO, enforces corporate policies, processes, and procedures. Direct and supervises the application of such policies to the manufacturing operations.
  • Forecast labor requirements through capacity planning and recommend equipment and/or facility changes, production methods, or material handling procedures. Initiates and recommends the purchase of new capital equipment.
  • Identify CI targets. Document the objective, potential savings, and execution plan.


Desired Qualifications & Experiences


  • Demonstrated execution of complicated product launches on tight product schedules.
  • Prior experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment,
  • Experience working with vendors on development, pricing, and inventory optimization.
  • Knowledge of business operating systems, KPIs, and CI techniques.
  • Ability to work in large cross-functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members).
  • History of using Lean Manufacturing techniques to drive performance improvements.
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc. or B.A), with over 15 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in deploying and managing ISO-compliant processes and organizations.
  • Proven success in many-fold cost reduction through a combination of product design changes, material changes, sourcing strategy, and process improvements.
  • Proven success in leading manufacturing ramp from pilot scale to very high volume of high-quality and cost-effective parts.
  • Good organizational, project management, and presentation skills to interact with all levels within the organization and with suppliers and vendors.


Preferred Requirements


  • A master’s degree in a related field.
