Job Title: Vice President of Transportation

Job Summary:

An industry wholesale leader is looking to add to their leadership team. The Vice President of Transportation will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the transportation operations of the company. This includes managing the transportation department, ensuring that all transportation activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, and developing strategies to improve the transportation operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to ensure alignment and effectiveness of transportation operations.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize the company's transportation network and meet customer service and cost objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards, including DOT regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and other transportation partners to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products.
• Manage the transportation department and oversee the daily operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and routing of vehicles.
• Develop and manage transportation budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
• Implement and manage transportation technology systems, such as transportation management systems and GPS tracking systems, to improve transportation efficiency and visibility.

Qualifications:

• Experience with transporting/distributing product to multiple customers and retailers
• Experience in managing transportation budgets and implementing transportation technology systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
• Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, business administration, or a related field; further education preferred
• In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Experience with being responsible for 3PL, dedicated, and private fleets
• At least 10 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in a leadership role.
• Multi-site responsibility experience (15+ DC/Warehouses)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
