Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Vice President of Legal to join the executive team and report to the CFO. In this role, you will have a wide variety of responsibilities from ensuring company compliance in a consumer-friendly manner to actively participating in business development negotiations and corporate structure discussions to managing general corporate governance. This is a hybrid role which is located in St. Louis, MO.

  • Broad-based legal experience and the ability to provide solutions oriented oversight and leadership for all legal needs of the company including managing and directing all general corporate matters, litigation, corporate governance, compliance, privacy strategic transactions, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions (including diligence and negotiations), enterprise sales, regulatory matters, public company reporting, risk management, employment, equity, contracts and intellectual property.
  • Handle legal requests from the organization, prioritizing and providing timely responses.
  • Advise in various legal matters, included but not limited to, conducting research, maintaining compliant employment agreement templates, and reviewing vendor agreements and NDA’s.
  • Experience working with leadership teams in venture backed companies to scale and grow the business.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Continually improve the efficiency and effectiveness of legal support for the entire organization, including assisting in developing and building legal department systems, process and tools.
  • Own the relationship with outside counsel across all functions of the business.


Requirements


  • Expertise in telehealth laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, fee-splitting laws, Corporate Practice of Medicine, and HIPAA.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly gain expertise in new industries and business types.
  • Thrives in ambiguous startup environments with rapid change.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capable of independently solving problems or working with minimal guidance.
  • Experience with commercial contracting and negotiation.
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed levels, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and long-term goals.
  • 10+ years of practice at a law firm or in-house, with experience in commercial contracting and healthcare regulatory law preferred.
  • JD degree from an accredited law school in the United States.

  • Competitive Compensation. The annual salary range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 depending on experience, plus equity and participation in the company bonus program.
