NTI’s research facilities are located at the Pelotonia Research Center in Ohio State University’s new Carmenton innovation district offering proximity to innovators, adjacent research and clinical facilities, access to downtown Columbus and the region.

This role requires occasional travel and evening and weekend work but also offers a flexible schedule including combination working from an office and working remotely, as agreed upon with leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a solicitation and engagement calendar coordinated with NTI’s pillar research and translational activities.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, and secure NTI donors with a focus on major donor support. Pursue connections and discover donor values, capacity, interests, and passions. Ensure quality and positive momentum within assigned portfolio to convert prospects to donors.
  • Oversee donor recognition and stewardship and development communications.
  • Steward and engage donors with an eye toward retention and growth.
  • Engage NTI’s Board, faculty, partners, and advisors in expanding NTI’s prospect pipelines through affinity research and network engagement.
  • Lead creation of required materials including proposals, grant applications, pitches, and collateral.
  • Maintain fundraising systems and calendar, tracking tools, and financial reporting of grant-funded programs and activities.
  • Work closely with NTI’s founder/CEO and COO to develop and execute fundraising strategies across the primary fundraising areas: major gifts, corporate partnerships, and foundation grants.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Demonstrated record of successfully raising major and transformational gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations in a research environment.
  • Entrepreneurial ability to develop new business.
  • Seasoned experience setting benchmarks, regularly measuring success against goals, and being accountable for development outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in building a philanthropy team.
  • Significant experience (10+ years) working in a nonprofit research organization with a successful track record in fundraising, strategy development, donor communications, and partnership building; preferably in a med tech setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering presentations to senior leaders conveying key information regarding philanthropic subject matters.
