The Role


The Vice President, Team Leader has the primary responsibility for the effective leadership of 10-12 Managing Directors (MDs) within the upper end of the Core Market who manage client relationships ranging from $40M up to $250M in AUA. The Team Leader is ultimately responsible for the satisfaction and retention of 250+ corporate client relationships with approximately $20-30B in total assets.


The position involves extensive and ongoing client contact with senior-level client decision makers (CFO, CEO, VP of HR, and consultants and advisors) of existing customers, placing a premium on executive presence, benefits and financial services acuity, and consultative sales skills. Focus areas include client retention and loyalty, revenue growth, product and services adoption and relationship risk mitigation strategies. Additional important management responsibilities include associate development, performance evaluation, compensation planning and hiring. The Vice President, Team Leader is also a Supervisory Principal responsible for compliance oversight for all registered representative direct reports.


The Expertise You Have


  • College degree required
  • The role requires extensive travel throughout the assigned territory.
  • Management experience preferred
  • Complete series 7, 24 & 63 exams within 90 days of hire.
  • 5 - 10 years of client-facing, institutional experience required. Previous advisor/consultant relations experience is desirable.
  • Relationship management experience preferred

  • Coach and mentor to provide continued career development and evaluate performance.
  • Provide leadership and support for all team based client re-pricing, renewal, and competitive rebid activity.
  • Ensure that team is aligned with all appropriate rules and regulations. For example: review customer correspondence, licensing, sales literature and client
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships (along with MD), including multiple constituencies including HR, Treasury, Legal, and Procurement.
