About the role:
DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a VP of Operations. This role is open to internal candidates only, with a hybrid work environment, preferably located in Naples, FL, or Atlanta, GA.
The VP Operations role is a key business partner within the company. Responsible for leading a team of operations staff which includes supervisors, coordinators, and other support staff. The VP Operations will work with other key stakeholders in the company to implement new programs, maintain existing programs, and effect change.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for proper staffing of operational teams within budget.
· Liaise and partner with Business Unit Leads and Head of Capacity Management for carrier presentations and new program onboarding.
· Support Business Unit Leads with operational needs to support business objectives.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality services and execution of projects.
· Assist with execution of strategic plans established by executive management.
· Develop co-working relationships with other VP Operations roles to ensure cohesiveness of the Operations Department.
· Coordinate with key staff in other departments such as Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Actuaries, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc to ensure onboarding of new and renewed programs/lines of business.
· General oversight of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) that will be managed by Operational Supervisors.
· Address issues escalated by Operational Supervisors – further escalating to COO if needed.
· Establish and implement new processes to improve and streamline operational processes and efficiencies.
· Enforce a documented system of back-office and underwriting support policies and procedures.
· Ensure compliance with workflows and procedures.
· Interface with Risk Management to work with external auditors to provide supporting documentation and follow up on process changes, if requested.
· Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring internal controls to mitigate risk.
· Manage and complete projects as needed.
· Perform other related duties to benefit the mission of the company.
Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Insurance related field, or
Commensurate experience
· Insurance Licensure preferred
· Strong insurance knowledge, particularly with respect to MGAs
· Possession of key competencies:
o conflict management
o organization
o decision making
· Manage Operational Supervisors and other support staff
· Oversight of Operations within product grouping
· Demonstrated success with innovating solutions to processes to increase efficiencies, productivity and profitability
· Solve problems when direction is lacking
· Use of Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Microsoft Teams
· Strong organizational skills with flexible, enthusiastic approach to change
· Professional work ethic
· Employee management skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
