Vice President, Operations reporting to the CEO of a top tier transportation and recycling company.
The Vice President, Operations plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees operations for a fleet consisting of 100+ drivers, 100 trucks and trailers. Directs a $40 million-dollar P&L and budgeting for division. Leads 12 direct reports (dispatchers), maintenance, driver recruiting, claims, customer service personnel. Goal is to assist support doubling the organization within the next few years. Focuses on network management and optimization to increase profitability while maintaining the highest level of culture supporting the drivers. Ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems. Collaborates with other to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives. Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and continue the high level of customer service. Participates in development of the overall strategic direction and annual business plan. Designs, implements, and tracks process improvements. Focus is to continue to provide the operations leadership to continue to grow and sustain the organization as one of the best in the industry. Travel 10%
Background Required:
- Industry Related Software (i.e., Samsara, Rose Rocket, etc.)
- Establishing standard operating procedures, KPI’s and metrics)
- Account Management (Interphase to solve issues, promoting organization, organic growth opportunities)
- Progressive Senior Transportation operational management (5 years minimum-leadership assignment)
- Fleet Management, Customer Service, and Load Planning
- Driver recruiting, retention strategies & committed to drivers
- Residence: Spencer, IN (relocation assistance)
- Drivers (Continue a culture of the driver is #1 most important person in the organization)
- Network management and optimization
- CSA, DOT, HOS, ELD, EPA, FMCSA & OSHA knowledge
- P&L & budgeting
Background Preferred (but not required):
- Network optimization and asset utilization
- Education: College Graduate- BA or BS (Business Management, Supply Chain Management)
