Job Description

About:

Westside is an investment holding company that acquires and owns individual buildings, building portfolios, land holdings and real estate rich companies throughout the United States. Westside’s portfolio consist of approximately $1.2 billion of assets mostly in Southeastern United States. Westside’s construction development pipeline totals approximately $3 billion of multifamily and mixed-use assets on developable entitled land it currently owns.


Role:

The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.


- BA/BS in Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

- 10+ years of direct experience in management and / or operations of real estate related ventures ideally in multifamily, mixed use, office and retail assets

- Hands-on business strategy implementation/management experience

- Exceptional analytical and communication skills

- Motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects

- private equity real estate experience and familiarity with various financial instruments across industries

- asset management and operational experience including negotiation with vendors, managing staff, implementing processes, overseeing day to day operations, implementing value enhancement strategies, etc.

- Willingness and interest in relocating to the Miami, FL area

Responsibilities:

- Work with the deal team on buy-side due diligence, post-acquisition integration, and the sale process

- Develop and implement strategic plans for our multifamily portfolio

- Work with the portfolio management to build infrastructure to support growth

- Implement tools to capture accurate, real-time data for decision making

- Identify key business challenges, accurately forecast liquidity needs, pinpoint financial/accounting process inefficiencies and assess the organization’s design, roles and team

- Ensure issues and opportunities are clearly and concisely presented

- Understanding accounting and finance process flows and how information is consolidated into the general ledger, to ensure improvement and value creation

- Employ actionable plans (e.g. create initiatives to optimize working capital, instill a liquidity focused culture, improve transparency in processes and organizations)

- Identify risks and obstacles early on, create contingency plans and communicating timely with client

- Guide and lead client interviews, ask inquisitive questions and understand different stakeholders’ perspective
