IME is seeking a Vice President of Operations in Colorado to join their growing team!

IME, a leading electrical contractor, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Operations. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the company’s success by overseeing day-to-day operations, collaborating with executive leadership, ensuring compliance with policies and safety protocols, managing budgets, facilitating departmental decisions, providing leadership and mentorship to teams, building client relationships, and contributing to the organizations overall initiatives. Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
  • Industry Networking: Collaborate with stakeholders across the industry to implement effective strategies aligned with company goals. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Act as a brand ambassador for the company, promoting its values and expertise in the electrical contracting sector. Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Process Implementation: Establish and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures. Lead company all-hands meetings and present performance reports to senior leadership. Assist in resolving client and subcontractor issues. Ensure teams’ compliance with policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Conduct reviews to align project schedules, safety, administration, and profitability with expectations. Evaluate bid opportunities, develop client relationships, and oversee project lifecycles activities. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Strategy Development: Establish and communicate the strategic direction of operations. This involves collaborating with the President to meet company goals and working with other divisions and departments to achieve overall objectives. Create clarity and efficiencies in day-to-day operations to drive growth and success for clients, the company, employees, and other stakeholders. Align departmental decisions and project plans with the organization’s business plan and vision. Present fully vetted initiatives with accurate due diligence and risk assessment. Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Oversee daily operations of construction and service efforts, providing leadership, vision, and mentorship to teams. Promote a positive culture, drive collaboration and excellence, and ensure projects are executed with a focus on safety and quality. Develop and mentor the team, including active participation in development of field staff, field leadership and succession planning. Serves as a member of the President’s executive team. Contribute to organization-wide initiatives and serve as a resource and collaborator to colleagues across the organization.
  • Budget Management: Establish and administer the department’s budget. Review cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements. Forecast and recommend staffing needs and ensure financial results align with company goals. Monitor and report on key performance indicators, sales metrics and financial results related to market expansion.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify and capitalize on project
  • Experience managing legal, liability, and safety risks in the electrical construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the commercial electrical contracting industry, including market dynamics, trends, and customer needs.
  • Willing and able to travel as needed to support market expansion activities.
  • Strong understanding of productivity tracking, schedules, manpower projections, and hiring needs in construction and service projects.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience in leading and motivating cross-functional teams.
  • Impeccable integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Accubid, construction project management software such as Procore.
  • Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.
  • Strong ability to complete due diligence and risk assessment.

Education & Experience
  • 15+ years of construction industry experience including 5+ years in upper management with a proven track record.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Working Conditions:
The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment. Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range:
195,000 – 250,000
