The Vice President of Finance is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Company’s financial forecasting models, the deployment of the Company’s capital allocation strategy, the development and oversight of the Company’s financial planning function including the capital and operating budgets, Treasury and insurance functions, and oversight of the metal and concentrate sales function.
Additionally, the VP of Finance demonstrates strong leadership and collaboration skills across the business, underpinned by experience in Finance, Accounting and Taxes disciplines, thus complementing the overall ability to strategically partner with all functions, including operations, at SSR Mining to drive value for the organization.
The Day to Day:
  • Drives outcomes that relate to all areas of responsibility that reflect the organization’s values and promote an optimal business outcome
  • Complies with legal and regulatory matters related to financial and banking functions
  • Participates in M&A due diligence or other related activities, evaluating options from a finance and risk lens
  • Supervises, mentors, and develops finance staff, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic.
  • Oversight of the FP&A, treasury operations, metal and concentrate sales, insurance, business excellence and debt and capital markets functional areas. Willingness to re-design and recommend improvements for the functions that align to business needs and strategy
  • Recommends and ensures maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures in compliance with SOX.
  • Oversee process design and implementation that introduces strong yet pragmatic governance and is repeatable across multiple jurisdictions globally
  • Intimately understands business performance and works cross-functionally to drive decisions through a consistent framework of strategic investment while effectively managing risk
  • Leads a team with a focus on integrity and inclusion and builds a leadership pipeline within the function
  • Improves and maintains the budget and forecasting process for FP&A while maintaining a strong partnership with the operational, technical, and mine planning teams, designing a streamlined process that utilizes available information to routinely update and report on the future profile of the business
  • Interfaces and builds relationships with other departments to ensure all requirements are being fulfilled and best outcome for SSR is achieved
  • Ensure sufficient oversight and coordination of metal and concentrate sales, helping to negotiate terms and conditions that are beneficial for the organization
  • Capital allocation strategy, development and execution against the strategy to drive aggressive profitable growth and maintain the company’s strong balance sheet
Is This You?
  • Experience working across multiple global banking and foreign exchange environments
  • 15+ years’ minimum experience leading a corporate finance team including experience in a GAAP and SEC reporting environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related major
  • Public Company experience required
  • Prior executive level management experience in a corporate finance or accounting function.
For applicants residing in CO, the salary range for this role is from $190,000 to $275,000.
