Position Overview:
The Vice President of Finance, in providing advisement and support to the Chief Financial Officer; establishes, implements, and maintains the financial operations of the organization, including fiscal controls, preparation, and interpretation of financial reports, safeguarding of the organization's assets, ensures efficient and accurate revenue cycle processes, oversees managed care contracting and optimizes finance related information technology. Develops and maintains overall accounting policies and controls, establishes, and maintains good corporate relations with third party payers and the investment and banking communities, assists in long-range planning and advises the CFO on financial affairs.
Essential Functions:
\u00b7 Assume primary site responsibility for controlling assets and directing budgetary accountability. This position also shares matrixed oversight of the following departments and processes: Revenue Cycle, Health Information Management, Managed Care, Finance, Finance Information Technology and Supply Chain Management.
\u00b7 Work proactively to ensure the general books of account of Montrose Regional Health are correct and accurate, consistent with policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
\u00b7 Ensure the financial and business transactions of Montrose Regional Health conform to the Authority Matrix, and all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
\u00b7 Oversee the internal control processes and support all aspects of financial accounting and management. Provide appropriate reporting to leadership of any deficiencies. Complete, verify, and execute quarterly stewardship checklist.
\u00b7 Support activities of internal and external audit as necessary.
\u00b7 Study general economic, business, and financial conditions and regulatory changes, and assess their impact on the organization's policies and operations and advise leadership as necessary.
\u00b7 Lead successful strategy, productivity, cost containment and revenue growth.
\u00b7 Lead patient access and patient financial services; coordinate activities impacting revenue cycle operations.
\u00b7 Coordinate and maintain purchasing programs that are consistent with, and supportive of Montrose Regional Health programs.
\u00b7 Maintain effective working relationships with representatives from third party payers. Oversee regular renewal and negotiation of managed care contracts.
\u00b7 Provide primary financial oversight for joint ventures and affiliations.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Qualifications & Skills:
\u00b7 Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field, required.
\u00b7 Master's Degree in business administration, finance, or related field, preferred.
\u00b7 CPA license, preferred.
\u00b7 Minimum of ten (10) years of total experience in healthcare finance, required
o Two (2) years of demonstrated experience in a senior-level finance position in a healthcare organization, required.
o Five (5) years of demonstrated experience within a finance control position, within a healthcare organization, and demonstrated knowledge and experience with revenue cycle operations within a healthcare organization, required.
