POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT


Reporting directly to the CHRO and with a matrix reporting line to the Presidents of the business unit, Moss’ Vice President of HR will hold a crucial and embedded role within the Solar division. They will be instrumental in shaping and implementing scalable, innovative HR best practices to effectively attract, develop, motivate, and retain a high-performing and diverse workforce for the Solar division. As a key member of the Solar senior leadership team, the Vice President of HR will provide leadership, strategic guidance, and management to teams responsible for various HR functions. These functions include talent acquisition of hourly craft labor, talent management, employee relations, policy development, and organizational development.


The Vice President of HR will serve as a strategic thought leader, influencer, and change agent within Moss' Solar division, responsible for implementing key people initiatives. Their role encompasses establishing trust and credibility while spearheading innovative solutions for staff retention and hourly recruitment. The VP will also contribute to the design and enhancement of performance management programs that effectively drive productivity, as well as develop workforce plans aligned with Moss' culture and strategic objectives, including forecasting talent needs and addressing talent gaps to ensure a skilled and capable workforce. In fostering a positive and inclusive work culture, the VP will oversee a team of HR Business Partners and Generalists, as well as Talent Acquisition delivery for hourly craft labor. Collaboration with other centralized HR functions will be essential to success in this role, ensuring a cohesive and harmonious approach while leveraging expertise in Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Development, and HRIS. This position requires in-office attendance and occasional travel to worksites and other locations.


Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities


  • Oversee and manage a team to deliver end-to-end recruitment from initiation of job posting to offer acceptance, and new hire pre-employment onboarding
  • Develops innovative ways to evaluate, correct, and enhance job performance and other workplace behaviors, assuring overall fairness and consistency while meeting business requirements and objectives
  • Establish and maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HR data and metric
  • Address employee concerns and provide overall support to team members and Managers
  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals and objectives
  • Develop and track key recruitment metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and identify data-driven areas for improvement
  • Facilitate and oversee the implementation of performance management programs to drive employee development and growth
  • Work in partnership with the leader of Total Rewards to design, implement, and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs. As well as conducting regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure that our company’s practices remain competitive with the market for recruitment and retention
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify and address talent gaps and succession planning needs
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and employment legislation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations, especially those impacting our hourly workforce
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand hiring needs, overall resource and workforce planning, and local market considerations
  • Establish strong partnerships and effective communication channels with executive leadership, hiring managers and stakeholders
  • Develop and monitor HR metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the Solar Senior Leadership Team on all HR matters
  • Foster relationships with external organizations, educational institutions, and community resources for talent pipeline development
  • Evaluate, develop, implement, and deliver comprehensive and effective recruitment strategies for hourly, high-volume positions at work project sites across the U.S.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes team member engagement and satisfaction. Maintain a pulse on staff and create programs to enhance morale, and to support motivation, engagement, wellness, and retention
  • Supports and facilitates organizational change by seeking and developing ways for teams to be most effective


Education And Work Experience


  • Previous experience with Workday would be helpful to the success of this role
  • Hands-on leader who is experienced and comfortable spending time in the field to engage with and earn the respect of the business, as well as understand their specialized needs
  • Passionate about building world-class employee experiences, with ability to build trusted partnerships with business leaders, and other HR colleagues
  • Sound familiarity with applicable employment and labor law standards
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Must be able to travel and work in the office in Fort Lauderdale, FL regularly
  • Forward-thinking and creative individual with high personal integrity, with a clear sense of ethics, fairness, and responsibility aligned to company culture and objectives
  • Possess a broad understanding of sourcing and Talent Acquisition of high-volume positions, ideally in craft/general labor, or construction
  • Experienced, executive-level people leader who has been responsible and accountable for a broad range of HR functions in high-growth environments with heavy density of hourly/non-exempt workforce
  • Proactive, approachable, people-oriented person with strong interpersonal skills
