Job Description

Silicon Valley Medical Development is currently seeking a talented and strategic Vice President to lead our Human Resources department!

Pay: $197,000 - $271,000/year

Location: Los Gatos

Job Summary: The VP of Human Resources is a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for building all aspects of SVMD’s human resources (HR) department from start-up, leading HR strategies and operations to meet the organization’s business goals. The VP will identify, design and implement needed HR infrastructure, benefits plans, systems and programs, and associated change management processes.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Partner with El Camino Hospital colleagues (i.e., CHRO, HR, legal counsel, IT, et al) and external resources/consultants to leverage technical and systems expertise including but not limited to the following:
  • Develop and execute strategies and programs to attract, develop, reward and retain outstanding employees (e.g., market competitive and financially sustainable compensation and benefits programs)
  • Grow the organization by providing strategic leadership and efficient resource planning
  • Develop and execute HR due diligence, onboarding, integration and stabilization processes related to mergers and acquisitions of medical practices/groups
  • Partner with SVMD leadership team to develop a culture of excellence among staff and physicians/providers that supports SVMD’s mission
  • HRIS
  • Finance-related systems
  • Physician/provider programs
  • Relevant support services

Human Resources

  • Provide leadership oversight for all HR functions including, but not limited to talent acquisition, onboarding, total rewards programs (compensation and benefits), HRIS, employee and physician/provider relations, employee engagement, performance management, and training and development
  • Establish and ensure that the appropriate structure, competencies, programs and processes exist SVMD-wide within the HR function to provide effective, innovative, measurable and successful outcomes
  • Provides HR support services to the SVMD affiliated medical group(s)

Financial Management

  • Develops and manages HR budgets

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Employee engagement
  • Mergers and acquisitions of medical practices/groups
  • Leadership and staff development
  • Function as a strategic business advisor to the SVMD leadership team regarding key organizational and management opportunities, as well as organizational performance management and total rewards
  • Organizational design
  • Lead HR initiatives in the following areas:
    • organizational design
    • leadership and staff development
    • employee engagement
    • mergers and acquisitions of medical practices/groups

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of benefits, employment, compensation, HR systems, organizational development, employee and physician/provider relations, equal opportunity, training and development, and organization policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge and experience in understanding operational impact on finances, costs, and efficiency
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of human resources management principles, practices and standards, and Federal and CA labor laws
  • Strong technical skills using PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel; including experience with database programs
  • Demonstrated experience in driving change management and performance improvement initiatives in order to increase quality, outcomes, effectiveness, and efficiency
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple and diverse points of view
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ten (10) years of senior level human resources management experience in a medical group, medical foundation or ambulatory care organization
  • Master’s degree in human resources, business or health care administration, or related; Bachelor’s degree and two (2) additional years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree
  • To facilitate a successful and positive outcome
