Overview


At Instant Teams, we pride ourselves on continuous learning and we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vice President of Learning and Development. The VP, Learning and Development will be responsible for developing learning modules for functional areas across the business, working collaboratively with each leader to design the right approach for learning success. This individual will manage a team of people including trainers, instructional designers, and facilitators to ensure learning modules are optimized for the time and capability constraints as well as ensure a measurable return on learning is achieved. This individual will also work collaboratively with Product and Engineering to ensure we build an industry-leading Instant Teams Academy platform which is a key pillar of our skills-based hiring platform.


Classification: Exempt, Salaried


Annual Salary: $135-180k (dependent on experience)


Location: Instant Teams is a remote-first company and so this position is and will continue to be 100% remote, work-from-home.

Day in the Life


  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ensure all connections to performance management and training opportunities exist while working with People Operations.
  • Have a deep understanding of Instant Teams’ business goals, industry trends, and capabilities provided to customers; identify gaps of knowledge.
  • Lead and oversee the L&D staff to ensure motivation, engagement, growth, and development.
  • Establish strong relationships with Instant Teams’ customers in order to have a pulse for what’s needed and identify the learning gaps.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of trainers/facilitators to ensure the quality of learning modules.
  • Set the example for Instant Teams’ talent, exhibit Instant Teams values, and remain solutions-orientated.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with facilitators to ensure effective management of content material and delivery at designated intervals.
  • Oversee the development of content, and create content as needed.
  • Manage a network of service partners who provide services within our Instant Teams Academy ecosystem to ensure they meet our KPI expectations, and deliver the performance outcomes expected.
  • Oversee the development and creation of training opportunities across Instant Teams.
  • Proactively manage the content and access to learning resources.
  • Conduct regular assessments of our current learning modules against customers’ needs and make recommendations for approvals and provide solutions where gaps are identified.
  • Ensure Instant Teams learning modules are designed to meet the needs of our customers and deliver high-quality learning experiences that prove skills have been acquired.
  • Facilitate collaboration to gather insights and customer feedback and raise awareness of L&D initiatives with other internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver assessments/analyses of learning initiatives and provide clear reporting for continuous improvement of material and facilitation of training sessions (quality control and continuous monitoring) at designated intervals.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, and community.
  • Be a visible thought leader externally promoting our skills-based learning platform.

Required Education And Experience


  • A proven analytic performer who embraces change and values customer and staff relationships.

  • Must be a self-starter and possess a passion for teaching and educating.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, relationship management, and influencing.

  • Ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of an organization including c-suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, independent thinking, and effective problem-solving.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in training and creating learning programs.


Preferred Education And Experience


  • 10 + years of experience in training and creating learning programs.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with start-up companies is preferred.
