How You'll Perform The Role
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Vice President, Human Resources (VP,HR) will oversee Human Resources for the Food & Delivery segment of Novolex.
The VP, HR will direct the implementation of critical corporate initiatives in support of integration, sharing of best practices, general compliance, continuous improvement and employee relations in 43 manufacturing facilities (9 union facilities) plus 2 non-manufacturing business offices located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, Ireland and the Netherlands.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Partner with leaders on a range of activities including leadership capabilities, performance management, team efficiency and organizational design
  • Provide expert guidance and coaching on addressing people concerns within the team
  • Effectively resolve employment relations issues in partnership with leaders and legal team
  • Lead across multiple sites around the USA, Canada, and Europe with the ability to travel independently
  • Be skilled at developing and executing high volume staffing strategies for seasonal business needs
  • Create, improve, and administer human resource policies and procedures
  • Support workforce planning, recruiting and initiatives to ensure that business needs are met
  • Have strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and strong managerial courage
  • Determine implementation strategies and customization requirements for HR plans, programs, processes, and tools to ensure the business needs are met
  • Have ability to influence in all directions, and demonstrated ability to coach senior leaders
  • Have a passion for innovating HR solutions and executing process improvement with strong project management skills
  • Utilize people analytics and metrics to develop solutions to address talent gaps and capitalize on opportunities
  • Deliver results with little supervision in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment
  • Lead, manage and roll out special projects for Novolex
What We Need From You
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Experience leading, developing, and managing performance of HR professionals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. Master’s is a plus.
  • Ability to actively listen, comprehend and analyze situations
  • Experience in organizational design and effectiveness
  • Must have experience working in a manufacturing environment (Union experience/Labor negotiations a plus)
  • 10 + years of Human Resources leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships within all areas of the company
  • Systems-oriented way of thinking
  • Experience with assessing talent
