We are seeking a Vice President, Engineering to join our team. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our Waltham, MA; Austin, TX; or St. Petersburg, FL office.
Job Summary
This Vice President, Engineering, will be responsible for our Identity Governance suite of products as well as establishing new, greenfield products in identity management. This leader will drive development practices for both our existing solutions, as well as future hybrid cloud and cloud native offerings. Working cross-functionally, the VP of Engineering partners with other senior leaders in engineering, product management, customer success, marketing, and other corporate functions to drive a clear and effective product roadmap, supported by a profitable and scalable business-to-business model.

- Manage the department and team plans by establishing clear goals, hold staff accountable and participate in regular feedback dialog with staff members.
- Enable complex product migrations and transformations from reduction of code base technical debt to minimizing customer change burden
- Manage local resources and offshore contract resources
- Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and assign necessary resources.
- Advocate for modern lean software development practices that deliver high quality code including continuous integration and deployment, automated test and use of modern tool sets.
- Review, recommend and oversee outsourcing and partner contracts
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience managing engineering teams
- Experience building and maintaining complex development teams comprised of onshore, nearshore, and offshore resources
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
- A proven ability to learn and adapt to new, complex development environments with deep-dive analytical skills
- 3+ years of experience building distributed highly scalable enterprise solutions
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field or 8+ years of relevant work experience
- Dedicated to producing quality code through best practices of test-automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
- Experience developing software for healthcare customers is desirable
- Fluency in Spanish is desirable
- Experience integrating third-party technology and solutions into products
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns
- Experience guiding high performing teams with demonstrated ability to evaluate and develop talent
- Experience in successfully bringing new products to market (greenfield development) as well as a proven ability to deliver enterprise software products
This position offers a salary range of $240,000.00 to $280,000.00 (inclusive of variable compensation such as bonuses and incentives). In addition, more information about Imprivata’s benefit offerings can be found here. This salary range represents the high and low end of Imprivata’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
