We are seeking an experienced and visionary Structural Engineer with a strategic mindset to lead our engineering department. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the structural design for Pre-engineered buildings, analysis, and engineering processes of all our projects.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and ensure safety
- Provide technical guidance and support to resolve complex engineering challenges and address design issues during installation
- Manage engineering budgets, schedules, and resources effectively to ensure timely and successful project delivery
- Collaborate with business development teams and sales to identify new opportunities, prepare proposals, and participate in client presentations
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards within the structural engineering discipline
- Review and approve designs, calculations, and documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to project specifications
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering resources, setting goals, establishing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead a team of engineers and technical project managers providing guidance, mentorship, and support in their professional development and project execution
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop innovative and efficient engineering solutions that meet project requirements and objectives
- Stay updated on emerging trends, advancements, and technologies in the field of structural engineering, incorporating relevant innovations into the company's practices
- Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and knowledge sharing within the engineering department and across the organization
- Oversee the design and analysis of complex structural systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and industry partners, representing the company's expertise and commitment to excellence
- Develop structural designs for Pre-engineered buildings, ensuring compliance with industry standards,codes and regulations
Qualifications:
- Must be able to analyze high complexity projects outside of MBS
- Experience with MBS design software
- A solid understanding of business principles, financial management, and market dynamics. This includes the ability to analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to the development of business strategies.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is typically required. A master's degree in engineering or business administration can also be advantageous.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, manage budgets and resources, and ensure timely delivery of projects within budget constraints.
- Fluent understanding of seismic design of metal buildings and steel structures
- Proven leadership abilities and experience managing engineering teams. This includes the ability to motivate and inspire team members, provide guidance and direction, and ensure effective project execution.
- Extensive knowledge with current building code requirements
- Quality and Safety Standards: Familiarity with quality control processes, quality assurance standards, and safety regulations within the pre-engineered metal building industry. This includes a commitment to ensuring high-quality standards and safe working environments.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Extensive Design experience on medium and high complexity buildings
- The ability to develop and implement strategic plans, set goals, and make informed decisions that align with the company's objectives and industry trends.
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Extensive experience in the pre-engineered metal building industry, preferably in a leadership or managerial role. This can include experience in design, manufacturing, construction, or project management within the industry.
- Understand both manufacturing process and fabrication techniques of products
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders. The ability to collaborate, negotiate, and build strong relationships is crucial.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in the field of engineering, particularly in the areas related to pre engineered metal buildings. This includes structural engineering, design principles, building codes, material selection, and construction processes specific to the industry.
- A willingness to stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and emerging trends in the pre-engineered metal building industry. This can be achieved through professional development, attending conferences, and staying connected with industry networks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
