Job Description
The best thing about live events is being part of something bigger than yourself: a community. At BoxCast, we help organizations connect with their community through our growing live streaming video platform. A UX Researcher will utilize a variety of user research and information gathering techniques, along with your strong creative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills to conduct research that evaluates and influences our experiences for desktop, mobile, and physical devices. This position requires someone who is collaborative, confident, self-aware, flexible, analytical, and a problem-solver that advocates for the customer.

What You’ll Do

  • Communicate results and recommendations clearly using compelling and impactful presentation techniques
  • Take ownership of assigned projects while making decisions with direct input supervision
  • Analyze and synthesize information gathered during studies and ad-hoc analyses to make business and design recommendations for improving the customer experience
  • Employ creative and innovative qualitative and quantitative research methods to understand the needs of consumers to generate insights useful in evaluating designs and fueling ideation
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand the questions and areas of inquiry they have related to our customers
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute customer experience research studies using techniques such as in-person and remote usability testing, user interviews, listening sessions, product/concept evaluation, and customer feedback surveys
  • Responsible for other tasks, as assigned

Must Haves

  • Extremely comfortable with the tools of the trade: UserTesting.com (or similar), SurveyMonkey (or similar), Excel, etc; must also be productive with G-Suite tools
  • A fundamental understanding of and ability to apply research to inform UX deliverables including, wireframes, user task flows, experience maps, and affinity diagrams
  • A high level of comfort with user research techniques/ tools such as usability testing, generative research, interviewing, question/ survey writing, and in-person interviewing
  • At least 1-3 years of professional experience/ training in Human Factors research, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and synthesizing data from research studies, observed customer behavior, interviews, and/or survey responses
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly when discussing data-heavy topics

Nice to Haves

  • A background in testing consumer goods, computer hardware, or physical goods
  • Experience working at a SaaS company or with rich web applications
  • Knowledge of user interface design, information architecture, design patterns, and human factors, particularly for the web and mobile applications
