Job Title UX Researcher (Contract)

Location: Remote USA - This role can be performed anywhere from the United States.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate UX Researcher to support GoPro software products research. This is a contract position (35-40 hrs/wk), working directly with the Head of Field Testing Program. As a highly consumer-centric and data-driven organization, GoPro has an incredible opportunity for a UX Researcher with a passion for photo and video technology, a burning curiosity about human behavior, and significant experience in consumer electronics research. This role will conduct research to generate and explore new ideas as well as to evaluate and optimize existing products and features for software.

What You Will Do

• Conduct in-lab and field usability evaluation of products & prototypes
• Expand the Field Testing Program for Software products
• Provide design feedback and suggestions based on observation, research, and expertise
• Conduct up-front generative product opportunity research
• Edit and craft reports as necessary
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that thrives on delivering value to our customers frequently
• Moderate 1:1 usability studies
• Work cross-functionally with stakeholders including product management, data science, design, engineering, and marketing to identify and prioritize knowledge gaps in our understanding
• Design and execute research that closes those knowledge gaps, using a wide variety of methods and interpreting analysis through the lens of business impact, UX, and social science

Skills We're Excited About

• Strong organizational skills and deep understanding of project management concepts for initiating, planning, monitoring, and reporting
• Experience moderating 1:1 usability sessions
• Highly detail orientated, organized, and able to deliver tasked work at a consistent quality
• 2 + years of UX professional research experience
• Passion for understanding human behavior
• Working knowledge of usability testing tools
• Adaptable and quick learner that enjoys tackling a large variety of problems
• Excellent interpersonal communication (both written and verbal), must be comfortable working with participants

The pay range for this role is between $38- $40 per hour. Actual pay within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including your residence location and prior work experience.
