Job Description

Role Summary:


We are seeking an Underwriting Support Manager role to join our specialist team. The candidate will be supporting our US CRU Department.This is an outstanding opportunity for an enthusiastic, keen and hard-working individual who wishes to develop their skills within an insurance environment. The Aventum Group (AGL) is an independent, privately owned, debt-free global (re)insurance group that operates across both the underwriting and broking sectors. We currently employ around c350 staff and have 15 offices across 4 continents. Through our wholesale (Consilium) and MGA (Rokstone) platforms, AGL offers clients a range of specialist solutions in all lines of Property and Casualty (re)insurance and is writing more than $1.5bn GWP. AGL’s 2026 vision is an insurance group with 5 complementary verticals spanning broking, underwriting and capital markets, controlling c.$5bn GWP. To achieve this vision AGL has embarked upon a programme of organic growth, joint ventures, and M&A activity.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform day to day underwriting support tasks in respect to on boarding new carriers, data quality assurance, Renewal assistance.
  • Maintain an electronic and paper filing system
  • Conduct root cause analysis to resolving operational issues.
  • Audit management – work with Underwriters to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and compliance policies.
  • General policy administrative duties including entering data onto relevant spreadsheets and preparing and production of Insurance documents and contract endorsements
  • Work with Group Operations to implement process improvements, including system testing.
  • Liaise with Broking partners and Carriers to support efficient working practices

Carrier reporting

  • Help set-up and maintain carrier system requirements setting up new users for SharePoint sites, ensure SharePoint is up-to-date
  • Handle Ad-hoc requests from existing carriers and ensure timely implementation (act as liaison between IT and users)
  • On boarding new carriers
  • Overseeing the implementation/automation of carrier reporting requirements by working closely with IT to help identify necessary data and communicate additional needs and changes
  • Help with due diligence reports for the carrier
  • New policy numbers, carrier parameters, etc.
  • Conducting new reports, implementation of additional fees, implementation of changes to underwriting guidelines
  • Review carrier guidelines and oversee implementation of rules and restrictions (act as liaison between IT and users)

Data quality assurance reviews

  • Review generated reports to ensure data is being captured correctly
  • Creating new documents and making sure they are accurate

Audit management

  • Making sure all new systems are functioning as tested
  • Underwriting guidelines and carrier imposed rules are being followed
  • Policy issuance, OFAC
  • Help with compliance related tasks
  • All internal and external libraries are well maintained and complete

Liaison with support function

  • Communicate system errors
  • Managing testing of new systems including tracking of errors and implementation of proposed changes
  • Make the necessary changes to existing environment and ensure implementation
  • Implementation and use of additional systems not ‘fully supported’ by London IT (e.g. AIR)
  • Overseeing future phases of system integration


Role Requirements:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • High computer literacy and intermediate use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • At least 5 years insurance experience in an underwriting environment
  • Leadership experience, including managing operational teams
