Corporate Underwriting Manager Jobs

OVERVIEW:

Corporate Underwriting Manager will help ensure overall company underwriting flow, functionality and compliance within regulatory requirements and corporate policies. Maintains appropriate documentation, reports and monitors internal controls. Assists in conducting department assessments to ensure quality control. Monitors consistency of file compliance in all areas. Monitors and implements regulatory and industry changes as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· The Underwriting Manager is responsible for overseeing a team underwriting files as part of their current day to day responsibilities.

· This position will be responsible for monitoring the underwriting pipeline with careful attention to file flow, service levels and workloads in order to attain acceptable turn times and customer and sales team service.

· The Underwriting Manager will monitor efficiencies and will continually look for ways to improve our processes, procedures and use of systems to ensure continuous service, quality improvements and error reductions.

· Create and maintain an efficient and productive environment with a department culture in line with our company culture.

· Ensures effective communication with staff, leadership, and sales team.

· Ensures the integrity of loan data entered and maintained in Encompass LOS.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including but not limited to: HMDA, RESPA, Reg Z, Reg B, Fact Act, and Safe Act.

· Monitor results of internal and state audits and manages corrective implementation for areas needing improvement, including additional training opportunities.

· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

QUALIFICATIONS

· Current or recent active underwriting experience.

· Delegation for FHA, VA, USDA required.

· Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines and AUS.

· Strong knowledge of FHA/VA guidelines and AUS.

· Strong knowledge of State and Federal laws pertaining to the mortgage banking industry (i.e

RESPA, TILA, ECOA, etc.)

· Proficiency in Encompass LOS, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

· Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail

· Time Management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.

· Positive attitude and team-oriented trench ethics.

· Preferably 5 year’s experience in residential mortgage origination for both conventional and government products with an Independent Mortgage Bank.

· Two or more year’s experience in a management role

TECHNOLOGY

· 2+ Year’s Experience with Encompass by Ellie Mae Required

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
