SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Head of Campus Security and working closely with our MetroNational Experience team, the Security Training Director (Training Director) will oversee the development, implementation, and auditing of all training for our in-house security personnel and provide quality assurance across all security staff working on behalf of MetroNational’s properties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure all trainings and affiliated programs comply with all applicable statutes, regulations, and policies.
- Establish, update, and maintain training curriculum for all in-house staff to include State mandated curriculum, new-hire orientations, security topics, specialized and continued education programs.
- Assist with recruiting and onboarding of security personnel to ensure we are hiring and retaining qualified candidates
- Deliver reports to quantifiably measure historical performance and utilize to institute improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate effectiveness and audit training documents, records, and support provided by our third-party security service provider to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Promote a pro-active security environment for all staff, guests, tenants, and visitors.
- Oversee, design, develop, implement, and evaluate recommended and approved learning programs to ensure MetroNational core values and Department goals and Objectives are always met.
- Provide support to Security Director(s) to develop and deliver innovative advanced training on topics such security policies, security best practices, guest experience, and other related topics.
- Develop and maintain documented standards and measures for effectiveness of the training program to include training content, implementation, testing, surveys, and audits for evaluation.
EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experienced in the recognition, development, and implementation of process improvement opportunities.
- Advanced knowledge of security management leadership and training techniques.
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or relevant degree required with a focus on Physical Security; or 10+ years of Security Management, Law Enforcement or Military experience leading groups of 10 or more.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven administrative, management and leadership abilities.
- Familiar with the methods of risk assessment and security audits.
- A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments to achieve desired outcomes within established time schedules, to work well with others and to function calmly and effectively during times of emergency are required.
- Effective organization, problem solving and presentation skills.
- Strong ability to create reports, develop presentations and business correspondence.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures or government regulations.
- Effective communicator with outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, supervise, train, and direct a mall security operations team and contracted services; effectively communicate with tenants, vendors, clients and employees.
· Exercises good judgement and initiative.
- Strong knowledge of computer software programs to provide in-person, virtual and other training types across the portfolio.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks and duties at outlined above.
- The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. May occasionally be required to lift up-to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. Must be able to move freely throughout the campus, including moving up and down stairs.
