The Field Training HVAC/R Manager will collaborate with Climate Pros University Technical Training Manager and front-line business leaders to identify, develop, and deliver training programs and other solutions to increase speed to proficiency for apprentices and the ongoing development of all field technicians in alignment with business needs, industry trends, and organizational growth while also performing work in the field as needed.
They will demonstrate best practices for delivering CPU Front Line Technical Training curriculum at our Branch Offices so local trainers can best leverage the programs and materials developed centrally to drive “The Climate Pros Way” nationally.
The Field Training HVAC/R Manager will consult regarding best practices, product-related reliability, and technology improvements, including troubleshooting, retrofits, new design applications, and technology. They will use ongoing feedback to improve training and service delivery continuously. They will work directly with our CP customers to identify, capture, and share the best methods of providing top-tier service based on their unique site requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the training, performance, overall growth, reliability, and technical integrity of the Climate Pros Service Delivery model internally and externally. Mentor and coach.
- Conduct demonstrations, provide explanations, and convey ideas, concepts, and theories for all aspects of the curriculum.
- Travel with an occasional extended stay in support of training delivery.
- Ability to read construction drawings, layouts, and electrical schematics.
- Excellent organization and planning skills. Detail-oriented.
- This position requires a solid commitment to technician-centered success in the HVAC/R industry and a passion for supporting the continuous development and upskilling of our service and construction field employees.
- Participation in product and business reference groups.
- Additional requirements or duties assigned by management.
- Clearly articulate the why, what, how, and importance of this role within the organization for our technicians, industry partners, and customers.
- Review and approve technical documentation to install, service, and repair commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write, capture and illustrate procedures.
- Build rapport, strong relationships, and trust with customers, stakeholders, and employees at all levels within Climate Pros.
- Carry out assignments related to troubleshooting, process improvements, utilization of technology, project work, and Special pilot project assignments.
- Troubleshooting assignments.
- Work with the L&D support team to schedule and coordinate Refrigeration Training Programs that align with business needs and growth targets within the area of responsibility (regionally and nationally as needed).

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- UA HVAC/R STAR Certification a plus
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Be an honest team player, growth-oriented, ability to do whatever it takes; safely!
- Journeyman status and 8+ years of experience in the HVAC/R industry as a field technician, trainer, and field service manager directly related to the competencies being taught is required.
- Demonstrated professionalism and customer focus.
- Demonstrated understanding of the HCAV/R business and what it takes to be successful
- HVAC/R Instructor Credentials a plus
- Be an HVAC/R program graduate with at least 600 hours of training or hold an associate degree in HVAC/R technology.
- Impeccable integrity and credibility.
- Experience learning spreadsheets, scheduling, communication, word processing, and LMS applications.
- Expertise with commercial mechanical, electrical, controls, and CO2 as applied in the retail refrigeration industry.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, carry, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds. The environmental noise level is medium/low.
