Summary/Objective


Under general supervision, assess DAS training needs, develop and coordinate training courses for DAS Staff, conduct research, evaluate effectiveness of training courses,


facilitate training teams, prepare training materials, and conduct classroom training.


Training topics may include, but are not limited to, any of the following: DAS/SSA


computer systems/programs, Adjudicator Basic training, Refresher training,


Reconsideration training, DC training, and CDR training. Serves as technical specialist regarding training issues. May develop and facilitate workshops and other special programs. Along with other members of the training team, may provide support with VOD and/or IVT coordination, training room scheduling, training tracking system, and library maintenance.


  • This job will require travel to branch offices, including overnight travel. Branch offices


are currently located in Savannah, Thomasville, Dalton, and Athens.


Essential Functions

  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • May serve as a lead worker.
  • Serves as a resource in the development and implementation of outreach communication.
  • Produces videos, pictures, and photographs for use in support of training.
  • As a team member or individually, participates in the development of training courses for DAS staff.
  • Identifies training needs, providing guidance and training to customers or less experienced staff.
  • May train subordinate staff in proper procedures of day-to-day operations.
  • Provides related services such as scheduling of training, maintaining records, and setting up/checking equipment.

Required Education And Experience


Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND Three years of professional experience in interpreting and applying laws regarding program eligibility OR Two years of experience required at the lower-level Adjudicator 2 (LEP011) or position equivalent.


Preferred Education And Experience


Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the required education and experience, possess one or more of the following:


Professional experience interpreting and applying laws regarding medical program eligibility for all SSDI/SSI claim types to include:
  • Previous experience planning, delivering, developing, and /or evaluating training programs and activities.
  • A high level of proficiency with Electronic Claims Processing tool (eCAT), SSA PCOM, Policy Net, and DAS AS400
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Two (2) years of experience processing Continuing Disability Reviews (CDR) and Disabled Children (DC) claims this experience must have been obtained within the past (4) years.


Supervisory Responsibility


None required for this position.


Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.


Physical Demands


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Working Conditions


Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodation can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.


Position Type And Expected Hours Of Work


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.


Travel


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
