Purpose:
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure compliance with U.S. export control law and regulations by coordinating and preparing export license applications for Applied’s products and services. The role will be responsible for managing the lifecycles of required export licenses, creating export license strategies and preparing executive metrics
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare export license applications for controlled products, restricted customers, and restricted end uses
- Assist in the development of sales strategies based on license approval trends
- Conduct research on export license requirements, end use restrictions, and sanctioned customers
- Track RFIs, RWAs, and license denials to be reported in executive metrics
- Coordinate execution of approved licenses with SAP manager through SAP GTS
- Work cross functionally with Applied engineering and sales teams to gather all documents required for export licensing applications
- Communicate updates and provide insight to Applied’s business units that export controlled products
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of U.S. Export controls specific to semiconductor manufacturing equipment
- Experience in preparing complex Letters of Explanation and submitting to Department of Commerce
- Bachelors degree in international business, finance, law or related field
- Strong understanding of U.S. Export control laws and regulations (EAR, OFAC, ITAR)
- Existing relationships with Department of Commerce licensing officers and staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of ECCN classifications and the commerce control list
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team
- 3 - 5 years’ experience collaborating with the business to prepare export licenses for the semiconductor (or technology) industry
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

$92,000.00 - $126,500.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
