Role Summary:
In this role, you’ll be part of the team that develops automated test solutions for Rivian’s electrical hardware including Level 3+ ADAS, telematics, infotainment, battery management, and vehicle control systems. Our team’s solutions include internal-facing software, low-level firmware, data management platforms, and custom electromechanical hardware. These solutions get deployed internally within Rivian and at external labs and contract manufacturing facilities.

You’ll be a key technical part of the team developing automated test equipment (ATE) for design characterization, validation, and manufacturing. You’ll work with the engineering leads to design systems, build first articles, redline schematics, troubleshoot issues, and support commissioning.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate software user interfaces to exercise test equipment during hardware bring up.
  • Troubleshoot, root cause, and document test equipment and harness failures.
  • Support commissioning of new systems.
  • Perform circuit board electronic modifications such as component rework, soldering/de-soldering of electronic components, etc.
  • Validate systems functionality by using standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies and digital multimeters.
  • Work with the test automation team to build automated test equipment and harnesses for Rivian electronic boards, based on schematics and work instructions.
Qualifications:
  • Hands-on approach: proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed.
  • Able to move/lift test boxes and instrumentation.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Technical degree or relevant experience in electronics or related field.
  • Experience with electrical testing using laboratory tools.
  • Experience with soldering and circuit board re-work.
  • 5+ years of experience building automated test equipment (ATE) or industrial automation systems.
  • Experience using power tools.
  • Able to read electrical schematics, drawings, and manufacturers’ product data sheets.
Pay Disclosure:
Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $40-44/hour (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
