Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Student Assistant in the Pediatrics department within the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Student Assistant position is to support research that focuses on understanding and promoting optimal child development among vulnerable children.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Maintain timely notes and records of meetings and workshops.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Recruit research participants.
  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and child assessments.
  • Assisting with preparation of workshop materials when needed.
  • Assist with program implementation.
  • Analyze data.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Undergraduate/graduate student or recent graduate of an accredited college or university, with computer experience including excel.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with children and adults.
  • Computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to speak Spanish.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT : Office environment. Moderate noise.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Job requires standing on feet multiple hours at a time, walking within the hospital complex, navigating stairs, elevators, etc. Ability to safely operate motor vehicle. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert force up to 25 lbs.
