Job Description
Position: Temporary Private Chef/Cook
Location: Greenwich, CT (with flexibility to help occasionally at residence in NYC as needed)
Schedule: Monday – Friday with flexibility for weekends, late evenings and holidays. Temporary position (approximately 3 months) with potential for permanent based on skills and need.
Salary: $500 per day; Benefits provided upon permanent hire: health, vacation, and 401K

Summary:
Active couple is looking for Chef/Cook who can support a casual family with a high standard of excellence. The Chef/Cook should be comfortable preparing healthy and nutritious home cooked style meals in line with the family’s dietary restrictions and leaving breakfast meals as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate weekly food service schedule with multiple offices using Mac and Outlook applications/Calendar management
  • Record favorite meals of the employers and work continuously on new recipes/repertoire.
  • Fulfill role of Manager and chef for all food service at the following locations: main residence in Greenwich, CT, a secondary residence located in NYC. Possibility of one or two special trips with family per year as events and schedules demand.
  • Responsible for household food inventory including buying, storing, hygiene and sanitation as well as efficient cost management.
  • Cooking lunch and dinner for owners daily as required by schedule. Cooking lunch for staff at residence daily. Providing meals for special meetings, evening events, weekend parties, guest stays and holidays at residences.
  • Report expenses and approvals through Concur systems.
  • Enroll in food preparation classes as requested to learn new cooking techniques.
  • Plan, coordinate, serve and supervise all special events held at the residence from small dinner parties to large indoor and outdoor events. Source, hire and supervise additional staff as needed for events.
  • Work well as a member of a residence team.
  • Ongoing sourcing of healthy food techniques, local farm to table purveyors.

Qualifications:
  • Non-smoking due to allergies of owners
  • Must have longevity and experience in a comparable role-residence specific
  • Upbeat and transparent personality a must; will interface directly with high profile guests
  • Works on iPhone and Mac platforms as well as Outlook/PC platforms
  • Low ego and be open to feedback and improvements overall
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Comfortability preparing simple, healthy meals as well as high end cuisine if needed
  • Flexible schedule a must, hours vary greatly
  • Established locally with working knowledge of best-in-class purveyors and markets
  • Must hold the utmost discretion and confidentiality standards
