Job Description
Minimum Requirements:Host/Hostess experience preferredMust be at least 18 years of ageTIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certified preferredUnderstanding of Forbes 5-Star dining standards preferredFamiliarization with restaurant POS system preferredProficient in Windows and Microsoft office such as MS Word, Excel, etc.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalConsistently aspires to fulfill our core Company values (Respect, Integrity, Passion, Teamwork, Accountability, Caring, Loyalty & Trust)Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members and co-workersMust possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy Tasks/Responsibilities: Engage guests at the door, on the phone and through emailRemain aware of reservations, short term and long termManage reservations for smooth flow of serviceRespond to reservation request and needs in a timely manner defined by the leadership teamResponsible for the training of all host team membersMaintain a high level of knowledge regarding the menuOversee menu modifications, creating special events and large party dining menus. Oversee menu ordering and/or printingFacilitate holiday reservations including templates, managing reservations and maintaining the accurate flow in the restaurantManagement of table and floor including the updating of cover counts, tables and timing through our reservations systemsEnsure guest are aware and confirmed of their reservation by phoneFollow Forbes Five Star StandardsOversees the host staff and schedulingResearch guests to provide unique personalized touches of familiarity to their dining experienceWork directly with the Outlet manager for forecasting future reservation trendsFollow up with guests in the dining room and at the door upon departurePromptly escort guests to their assigned table as they enter the dining roomLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s abilityIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 30 lbs intermittently throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsAbility to maintain compliance with Sea Island’s Company Resort Professional Image Policy
