THIS POSTING WILL BE USED TO CONDUCT ONGOING RECRUITMENT TO FILL ONE POSITION AND WILL CLOSE AFTER 14 DAYS.

Why does the job exist?

This position serves as TANF Supervisor in DWS NMW offices to provide Leadership and meet overall Program outcomes in the specific office/area assigned. The purpose of this position is to maintain responsibility for program administration and oversight; provide leadership and management over services; participates as the team leader and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the facilities assigned and supervise the staff.

How does it get done?

The TANF Supervisor will work with Career Consultants by assigning caseloads, reviewing work, delegating assignments and
monitor referrals, assessments, and data entry. The Supervisor will complete annual performance reviews and participate in the
recruitment, interviewing and hiring of staff. The TANF Supervisor will set expectations and hold staff accountable and reward
staff for program performance. The TANF supervisor will work with Managers and internal and external partners to find areas of
partnership opportunities within their area.

Ideal Candidate

Experience in the following:
  • Supervising staff for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Management with an emphasis on employee development.
  • Analyzing processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Job Coaching and Career Development
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration or Political Science.

Minimum Qualification

Associate's degree in Social Services, Education, Government, Human Resources or Business Administration and three (3) years of experience in customer service, administrative support, business administration, human resources, recruitment, placement, processing personnel transactions and/or eligibility determination in a private or public sector and/or social welfare program. Employment Requirements

Office setting. Sitting for long periods of time viewing computer monitor. Repetitive hand movement. Standing, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs. Use of computer, copier and telephone. Travel may be required to include overnight stays.
Employment Conditions: Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Long periods of sitting, standing, extended computer and telephone use. Excessive use of keyboard and viewing computer monitor. Repetitive hand movement. Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds. The incumbent will be required to perform outreach and drive long distances. Travel to include overnight stays may be required.
