Human Research Administrator:


  • Ensure compliance with human research ethics requirements
  • Interact with faculty and student researchers through IRB review and requested revisions
  • Maintain institutional record-keeping, review, and revision component of the Institutional Review Boards (IRB) function
  • Document detailed minutes and record-keeping


Senior Human Research Administrator


  • Conduct initial review of protocols to determine risk level and safeguard the welfare of human participants in research
  • Serve as a primary administrator for the UNLV IRB(s)
  • Call meetings of the IRB
  • Communicate federal regulation and policy as it relates to the Common Rule to ensure an informed compliance review
  • Ensure research faculty, students, and personnel are informed of compliance information as it relates to federal regulatory requirements concerning the protection of human subjects in research
