Position Summary:


The System Administrator will design and oversee local area networks, wide area networks, and network segments. Maintains, operates, administers, and supports systems, software, and infrastructure. Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading, and monitoring software and hardware. The System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, webservers, email, laptop, and desktop PCs.


Key Responsibilities


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
  • Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
  • Ensure Infrastructure is maintained and all components (Physical and Virtual servers) work properly. Help design system/infrastructure as needed
  • Support LANs, WANs, and Internet related technologies
  • Evaluate and modify systems' performance
  • Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades
  • Maintain and monitor network and system security


Environment Description – Work Location and Expected Travel:


Individuals must be able to lift 100 pounds, move furniture, crawl under furniture, climb ladders, and be physically agile. The employee is expected to perform essential functions during working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except during tax season when extra hours and weekend work may be required.


Responsibilities performed will most often be at corporate headquarters but will require travel to other company locations by automobile or airplane. Will be on a rotating emergency program to assure 24/7 assistance is provided to employees for work-related technical assistance.


Skills, Knowledge And Expertise


Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications:


  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in systems administration is preferred
  • Experience with various other software and hardware technologies including Microsoft Operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, VOIP or other phone technologies
  • Being able to work in a team environment
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT is required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, Technology, degree or relevant experience
  • Ability to work well with people
