Job Summary:

A Studio Manager with Alchemy Studio is a key manager position that oversees the overall weekly scheduling and functioning of the office as a whole. This role is in direct contact with the Principal, Project Managers, designers, clients, and project consultants. A Studio Manager will work directly with the Project Managers to establish a project schedule of deliverables that will outline the presentations and milestones that all parties have agreed to, to ensure the office is internally preparing for and achieving each due date/deadline.The individual deliverable dates will be communicated through calendar invites and the weekly studio schedule to ensure the presentation and documentation can be met at the utmost standard.A Studio Manager is to coordinate with the Project Managers to allocate staff and tasks to achieve the weekly deliverables and to check in with team members to ensure all tasks are being completed.They will also review information and documentation produced by the team to ensure that it meets company standards and that the correct design intent is reflected.They will subsequently communicate with the required team members for any corrections or alterations needed.A Studio Manager will also review all materials, presentations and documents generated by the team to be sent out to ownership or other project consultants to ensure the information is within Alchemy Studio standards. This also included the review of design presentation information including the review of labeled material samples, PDF presentations saved in a format to be easily presented on whatever type of screen required as well as any other needed items to demonstrate design intent.A Studio Manager may be required to attend or run design presentations virtually as well as in person dressed to Alchemy Studio office standards.They will ensure that the Project Managers document and distribute project notes to the team and any changes to schedule are communicated to the entire team. They will oversee the handing off of design information to the Drafting Project Manager to ensure that drawing deliverables are to be met which can include, but are not limited to Sketch-up models, material links, Pinterest links, finish schedules, preliminary AutoCAD drawings and documented design presentations.A Studio Manager may attend site meetings and participate in the Construction Administration process for the design portion of CA. FF&E selections will be picked by the team upon needed requirements and timelines and entered into a schedule for the Studio Manager to review. In general, the Studio Manager is the office coordinator and ensures that all staff and partners are completing tasks in a timely manner, which may require them to assist with more junior tasks from time to time including, but not limited to Sketchup model generation, AutoCAD or Revit modeling/drafting, Indesign presentation creation, master finish schedule and specification updates, and ordering/labeling material samples. The Studio Manager ensures the smooth operation of both design and drafting studio and coordinates with the other manager positions to ensure that Alchemy Studio standards are met, all design content leaving the office is professional and correct, and to advance the design language as a whole. A Studio Manager role is one of leadership and is integral in managing and training other staff members to AS standards. This position requires proactive vigilance and thoughtful orchestration to ensure Alchemy Studio is improving each project and design, and to lead the junior team of the office to run the most productive way. The Studio Manager will also aid in design projects that are of other typologies than interior design and oversee the schedules and deliverables for those unique design projects are met.The position also aids with business development through client outreach and relations to ensure positive working relationships and future projects.

Responsibilities:

· Maintaining and updating the individual project schedules and assigning staff to make sure that all project deliverables are met.

· Work closely and communicate with firm principal and project managers report project status.

· Managing individual project design schedule and deliverables using a proactive approach and ability to meet project timelines and client expectations.

· Communicating with client in a timely manner to ensure all expectations and issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.

· Reviewing of designs and presentations by the team for review.This can be achieved through reviewing hand sketches, AutoCAD drawings, Sketchup models, material boards, Pinterest boards and physical material samples.

· Reviewing specifying and sourcing materials, lighting, hardware, appliances, fixtures and furniture for projects.

· Reviewing designs and custom millwork and furniture pieces.

· Ensuring the graphics and visual presentations (ie: InDesign presentations, professional and sketchup renderings) are of AS standards and strong design quality.

· Reviewing the project documentation including full construction document sets. This included Interior construction and millwork detailing.

· Communicate and coordinate with outside consultants and vendors to maintain deliverables and project coordination.

· Possibly attend regular site visits at key stages.

· Possibly assist with FF&E installs.

· Proactive approach to improving office standards, operations, team dynamic and growth as well as aiding in the overall growth of the team and company.

· Excellent presentation skills including generation of presentations and articulating design information to clients and ensuring all other content created by team is at equal level.

· Basic knowledge of current building codes and ADA requirements.

· Strong communication, organization and time management skills and ability to work in a team environment.

· Self-motivated and ability to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic and creative environment.

· Vigilant review of office procedures and standards to ensure the office and employees are functioning at the best level possible and to alert Principals if there are issues that should be addressed.

· Knowledge of local and online showrooms and resources as well as industry trends.

· Proficiency in writing specifications and reviewing of shop drawings and submittals.
