Job Description
Husch Blackwell LLP is a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. We have an immediate opening for an Strengths Coach. This position may be filled remotely or in any of our office locations.


The Strengths Coach supports the firm’s Talent Development initiative by providing firm wide strengths coaching utilizing the Gallup Strengths Finder assessment. The Strengths Coach will work with individuals and teams of attorneys and business professionals to help them recognize their strengths, form stronger teams, and excel within their career. Essential functions include:


  • Incorporates successful strategies and tools for managers to use to highlight the collective strengths within their team.
  • Facilitate team meetings to debrief on assessment results, providing recommendations on how to incorporate each team members’ strengths.
  • Engage leaders and employees in the learning process and help them interpret their results.
  • Works with Director of Culture & Talent Integration to provide strengths coaching and consultation across the firm consistent with the strategic implementation plan.
  • Continually invest in self-development by remaining current with new developments, technologies, industry trends and innovations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Partner effectively with internal teams and leaders to transfer knowledge and skills.
  • Leverages external coaching certification and resources to enhance the strengths-based strategic objectives.
  • Design, develop, and implement strategic programs in alignment with the department’s overall strategy and own end-to-end planning and execution of assigned programs.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Assess needs, develop recommendations, and manage projects to improve the performance of leaders and teams across the footprint.
  • Prepare and adhere to initiative budgets.
  • Develops solution evaluation criteria and means to measure business impact and ROI at the individual and team level.
  • Use data, analytics and insights to enable evidence-based approach to continuously assess and demonstrate impact.
  • Elicit participation by developing and facilitating engaging and impactful leadership and employee experiences at all levels in a variety of modalities, including virtual, in-person, online, and hybrid.


Physical Requirements
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
  • Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.

  • Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision:
  • Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • The physical activity of this position:
  • Repetitive Motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
  • The physical requirements of this position:
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.

Position Requirements


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken and ability to establish credibility, build trust, and develop positive working relationships with team members, firm leadership, lawyers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic and complex environment, meeting deadlines and successfully managing the daily workload.
  • Ability to travel to other offices and events.
  • Gallup Strengths coach certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ work experience as a certified coach with a focus on Strengths coaching, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Exceptional judgment, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • 4‐year degree with major coursework in business, management, or Human Resources; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a change agent and effectively drive new initiatives in partnership with other firm departments
  • Ability to work after hours, as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and composure in stressful situations.


Compensation And Benefits


Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full time base annual salary for this position in the Denver, CO market is expected to range between $75,000- $100,000, in Los Angeles the market is expected to range between $93,000 - $135,000, and in Oakland the market is expected to range between $95,000 - $$138,000. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
