Job Description

Position Purpose

The Sr Manager of Warehouse Operations for our Fairfield Warehouse is directly responsible for providing the vision, leadership, and coaching needed to develop and maintain all departmental employees' competencies, performance, and collaboration within the warehouse environment. This position will ensure the delivery of world-class results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This position has leadership responsibility of our Fairfield warehouse, the largest fulfillment center in the Saxco network. The position will also provide leadership to the Warehouse Administrative function, impacting all Saxco warehouse and 3PL locations in the network and their staff.

Primary responsibilities :
  • Inbound receiving and inspection activities ensure inbound deliveries into AX are received and records maintained in compliance with company requirements.
  • Outbound shipping activities ensuring shipments are processed in compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in developing the annual operating plan for full P&L in direct alignment with company goals.
  • Assist in developing and preparing the annual budget, KPI Goals, evaluating weekly performance, and recommending adjustments. Manage all labor expenses and monitor weekly payroll.
  • Maintain compliance with all Federal, State, and local guidelines.
  • Execute established safety and security programs.
  • Identify and execute regional operational synergies, including warehouse optimization.
  • Drive Efficiencies (Loading, Unloading, Cross Dock, RF, Slotting, Accuracy, Performance, etc.)
  • Mentor, guide, and develop team members in receiving and shipping tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain established programs.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of service & productivity improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction & reduce operating expenses.
  • Review receiving schedules and daily outbound projections to estimate peak delivery periods and establish workforce and route requirements.
  • Confer with the VP of Operations and respond to customer or vendor questions or complaints to resolve issues regarding distribution services.
  • Conduct performance management activities, including performance appraisals and design of training and career development plans.
  • Work with the supply chain team to maximize fill rates and inventory turns.
  • Host local, state, and federal inspections
  • Review workforce staffing plans to ensure proper levels are allocated to meet business demands.
  • Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures.
  • Travel up to 15%
  • Work with the sales team to align product and service offerings with customer expectations.

Additional responsibilities *

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in warehouse operations.
  • 10 years of warehousing experience
  • Must have 5+ years leading other leaders in the warehouse environment
  • Must be proficient with MS 365 Suit (Excel, Word, WMS, ERP systems experience required) – Microsoft AX Dynamics is preferred.
  • Must have 5+ years of warehouse leadership experience
  • Must have a bias for process improvement, and change while acting as a servant leader for warehouse associates

  • Lean Six Sigma green belt or higher is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Distribution and Warehouse Management applications.

  • Ability to conceptualize and think strategically.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional change and create/build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates, justifications, and financial analyses.
  • Lean warehouse operations and staff focused on performance metrics and Lean process improvements.
  • Proven track record of maintaining a high level of employee morale through team building and counseling.
COMPENSATION

The base salary for this position is projected to be within the range of $85,000 - $125,000, depending on the candidate’s prior experience.
