Job Description

Robert Half has an exciting Sr. HR Generalist Opportunity with a large, publicly traded company located in San Fernando! The job is 100% on site and pays up to 120k and provides excellent benefits.


The Sr. HR Generalist will contribute to company performance by providing tactical support and consulting on people strategies in support of and aligning with business objectives, and perform HR-related duties at the professional level while supporting multiple departments or functional areas in the Corporate and Field environments.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following HR functional areas: onboarding, employee records and policies, talent acquisition, employee and/or labor relations, policy interpretation, benefits and leaves administration, compensation, HRIS input and tracking, and process improvement. Is responsible for completed staff work under general guidance with some expectation of autonomy.


Description:

· Build strong business relationships with internal customers.

· Apply organizational values in personal performance and ensures HR services are aligned with these values.

· Facilitate New Employee Orientation (NEO) program for new hires.

· Facilitate process of candidate selection: interviewing; job offer; background check; and candidate on-boarding details.

· Work with internal and external resources in effectuating talent acquisition, and actively support hiring manager’s recruitment, outreach programs, general networking, etc. to ensure candidate pipeline is managed.

· Consult with line employees and management, providing HR policy guidance and interpretation when appropriate.

· Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.

· Support HR business processes through utilization of HRIS modules.

· Support compliance-related processes including leave tracking and communication.

· Assist with resolving employee relations issues including conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.

· Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

· Act as a performance improvement driver for individuals and teams, and provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).

· Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

· Identify training needs for individuals, teams, and business units and individual executive coaching needs.


Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related discipline.

· 3 or more years of human resources experience with preferred full-employee-life-cycle experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· The ideal candidate works well independently with support from corporate and/or regional offices and thrives in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, juggling multiple priorities with speed and accuracy.

· Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.

· Detail-oriented and accurate.

· Knowledge and experience in construction or related industries.

· Deep knowledge of HR related federal and CA state employment laws, programs, and best practices.

· Must demonstrate strong ethics and influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

· Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and HRIS with JD Edwards (preferred).

· Human Resources Certification: PHR desired.
