Job Description
The Hill, a division of Nexstar Media Group, is seeking an experienced Sr. Events Manager responsible for project management and logistics for its growing events portfolio.

This position will work within a dynamic, dedicated team of events and marketing professionals to execute a variety of in-person and virtual event types including large audience live programs, interactive forums and one-on-one interviews.
This position is based in our Washington D.C. office and is NOT open for remote work.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a project management system that ensures all benchmarks and deliverables are being met.
  • Serve as primary project manager for live events.
  • Arrange event logistics including identifying potential venues, arranging appropriate food & beverage, procuring event decor, confirming A/V and livestreaming needs.
  • Coordinate communication between various departments of The Hill to ensure flawless event execution.
  • Build event registration pages.
  • Mange event budget and negotiate and route vendor contracts.
  • Assist with audience development and outreach where appropriate.
  • Work with business development manager and content producers to communicate with sponsors and participants on event logistics.
  • Prepare on –site event materials and supplies.
  • Assist with drafting promotional materials including creating compelling audience communications.
  • Other duties as assigned and developed.

  • Familiarity with Zoom, Webex or similar web conferencing platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Keynote/Powerpoint, Excel, G-Suite
  • Strong understanding of Washington, DC political/advocacy landscape and relationship management
Ideal candidates should have 3-4 years’ experience with event management, public relations, advocacy, communications and/or marketing.
Compensation ranges from $70,000-$90,000 + commensurate with experience and skill level.
