Job Description
Job Overview:
The full-time Solutions Specialist position is an exciting opportunity for the right person who is interested in making a difference in the teaching and learning of science and mathematics throughout a global learning community.
The Solution Specialist’s primary duties are to coordinate the delivery of high quality professional development and manage the assigned product Grant and Pilot program. In doing so, the Solutions Specialist is responsible for working with the PD Department leadership team to support the Certified Instructors who deliver professional development for the assigned product. As a result, the Solutions Specialist will contribute to measurably improved student achievement, to affect utilization of company products, and to the generation of significant revenue.
The Solutions Specialist is part of the Professional Development (PD) division and reports to the Solutions Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the divisions PD goals, targets, and projects
  • Assign instructors and prepare event assignment paperwork for the Grant program, ensuring that the instructors are informed and prepared for the logistics of each workshop
  • Pilot implementation meetings, mid-year check-ins and annual reviews as required by program guidelines
  • Deliver webinar and onsite professional development, as requested
  • Correspond directly with program district/school administrators to deliver reports, usage data, and highlights of successes and challenges throughout the pilot or grant
  • Support Grant and Pilot instructors when they are on assignment
  • Partner with the Marketing and Sales departments in the planning, record-keeping, and evaluation of each grant round
  • Serve as primary contact for teachers and admins of pilot and grant programs
  • Develop and implement new workshop materials as related to the appropriate product
  • Other PD tasks, as assigned
  • Persuasively interact with school decision makers in pre-sale and product usage status.
  • Communicate product updates and support end users during life of pilot or grant
  • Ensure adherence to the appropriate product Grant and Pilot guidelines and procedures for pre- and post-workshop processes
  • Track, document, and submit expenses related to job duties
  • Schedule grant trainings during the grant window to accommodate all grantees
  • Discern and communicate overall status of PD and sales support activities/strategies
  • Maintain the PD calendar for Grant and Pilot trainings
  • Review and revise current PD offerings annually, as related to the appropriate product
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Deliver Grant and Pilot PD, as possible or as requested
  • Maintain Grant and Pilot PD reports and confirm grant/pilot status as required by the assigned product program
  • Coordinate with the Instructor Manager for certification, mentoring, and review processes for Certified Instructors, as requested
  • Discern and communicate overall status of grant and pilot programs
  • Travel to at least two company meetings each year .
  • Prepare and examine grant reports, including reports of survey results, attendance, and usage as required per assigned product
Job Requirements:
  • Background check, if selected
  • Degree in math, science or math/science/elementary education
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to act independently and responsibly
  • Undergraduate degree in a math discipline, science discipline, math, science or elementary education.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
  • Skilled use of technology in teaching practice, for training events, and for personal use
  • Team player
  • 2-3 years delivering PD for teachers of mathematics and/or science
  • Fingerprinting, if selected
  • Mastery of the webinar format of presentation and communication
  • Experience designing and delivering PD for teachers, particularly in math/science
  • Previous experience as a telecommuter
  • Knowledge of educational research pertaining to instruction and PD in math/science
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
