Responsibilities

The Software QA Engineer will independently develops and executes test scripts to ensure that quality software is provided for release to production and to certify system changes.

What you'll do:

• Manages the Release Management process for all changes to the baseline IT infrastructure.
• Ensures all existing processes are fully documented, suggesting improvements, updating documentation, and communicating all process changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintains test databases and ensures their integrity and currency.
• Ensures all processes are adhered to appropriately throughout project lifecycles.
• Produces expert level test plan documents and requirements.
• Performs solution testing confirming business requirements.
• Runs regression tests.
• Develops test control databases.
• Assists with roll-out of systems documentation.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, Program Increment (PI) Planning, etc.
• Tracks status of defects. Provides quality assurance testing for all systems to ensure the development and distribution of quality products.
• Define requirements and acceptance criteria for JIRA user stories and bug tickets
• Independently and with little to no direction, create and execute manual and automated test plans and test cases
• Participate within an agile scrum development team to gather and define requirements for a new user interface (UI)
• Distributes test data from control database to development staff to satisfy adequate unit testing. Develops, compiles, documents and runs automated test scripts and test procedures.
• Communicate test case results with the Product Owner and developers, and work with them to resolve any discovered issues.
• Communicates with analysts and programmers about formal testing plans, problems, and results. Develops technical documentation and reports.
• Produces lists of defects that are to be resolved and incorporated into future releases of the application as required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience creating test cases from user story requirements and acceptance criteria
• CMS experience
• Agile or SAFe experience
• Ability to work independently and take initiative with little to no direction
• Experience creating user story and bug tickets, including development of acceptance criteria
• TestRail
• Ability to develop Selenium automation scripts and execute automated test suites
• Bachelors and 8-10 years, Masters and 6-8 years, PhD or 3-5 years of relevant experience
• JIRA experience
• Good communication skills, especially with Product Owners and developers
• Experience testing Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines
• The subcontractor personnel must be US Citizen or Green Card holders and should be able to secure a background check required for a public trust.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 508 testing / JAWS (or similar tool) experience
• Snowflake experience
• Backend database testing experience (SQL)

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
