Job Description
Position Description:


The Social Content / Copywriter is responsible for developing creative content for Disney Parks social graphics and video thumbnails. This role will work closely with our social media content creators, designers and strategists to write clever and innovative copy that is attractive and engaging. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment, is open to taking risks, and has a passion for creative writing and storytelling to entertain, inform, and build Disney brand trust and loyalty.


Social Media Copywriter is seasonal role - up to 29 hours each week.

Responsibilities:


Develop creative and compelling social media content that aligns with Disney’s brand voice, values, and business priorities.


Write clever, attractive, and engaging copy that captures the audience's attention and drives engagement. Ensure proper grammar, spelling, voice, and tone.


Select or develop eye-catching images and graphics to complement text.


Collaborate with the social media content creators, graphic designers, social strategists, and other stakeholders to create visually appealing and effective social media posts.


Demonstrate innovation, creativity, and thoughtful integration throughout your work.


Use SEO principles to boost copy reach, and current social media strategies to maximize engagement.


Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and audience preferences to inform content creation.


Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, technologies, and best practices.


Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Company-wide partners and team members.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Solution-oriented
  • Ability to navigate a complex organization
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite of products
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Travel may be required
  • High School or equivalent
  • General knowledge of technology within the design field
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a group (i.e. across multiple lines of business) as well as independently with little supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to adapt to different work styles
  • Knowledge design methodology, design thinking, and design research
  • 3+ years copywriting experience
  • Experience producing compelling social content/graphics
  • Demonstrated high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strong creative writer and original thinker
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work within a deadline-oriented environment
  • Requires a natural curiosity for the Disney Brand
